What competitive strategy does the What company appear to be following? Explain your choices. The main competitive advantage that Haier group has is the innovation being the main focal point of the company’s mission as well as their high-quality in client satisfaction. The main competitive strategy that Haier Company is adopting is the social work. By sponsoring sport teams in Australia and the USA, they are showing the community their interest in the social development and improvement.

2. What strategic goals does Zhang have for Haier? Do the company’s strategies appear to be helping it reach these goals?

The main strategic goal that Zhang has for the Haier group is the sense of globalization of their products; their main focus is to place their products to the highest level of quality which could be compared to other worldwide brands such as IBM and Coca Cola known for their excellence worldwide. By having such high prospect of their products, they are creating high- tech quality products that make them appealing to high demanding clients.

3. How might SWOT analysis be useful to Zhang Ruimin?

Since the SWOT analysis is a study that helps organizations to measure their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, perhaps would be useful for Zhang in the sense of creating strategic plans for the company considering their external environment. For instance, to be able to recognize their main competitors around the world and to create strategies to compete with them and to effectively fulfill the necessities of the people that comes from different cultures.
