Hades and the Underworld
In the time of ancient Greeks many people believed in certain Gods and Goddesses and their mythological stories. Among the many gods and goddesses there was Athena, Goddess of wisdom, crafts, and war. Also there was Apollo, God of the sun, music, healing, prophecy, and poetry. Apollo’s twin sister Artemis Goddess of hunting and archery. Then there’s Poseidon, God of the ocean and brother to the most powerful God of them all, the God of all Gods, Zeus. However, there was only one specific God that mortals and even Gods feared, the brother of Poseidon and Zeus. He was the ruler of the underworld and the dead; he went by the name of Hades.
In spite of controlling the underworld and the dead he was not as bad as they made him seem. He did however have a few minor flaws; just to name a few he was very selfish and greedy. Born as the son of Cronus, Rhea and the brother of Zeus, Poseidon, Hestia, goddess of hearth, Demeter, goddess of agriculture, and Hera, goddess of marriage. All the girls were all older than he was and Hades was the oldest male out of his siblings. Hades father, Cronus was the leader and then youngest of the first generations of the Titans and his mother was seen as the mother of all major gods and goddess. As they all began to reach adulthood Zeus brought an idea of a war against the older and younger generations of the Titans. This war was called the Titanomachy. A cyclopes gave the three brothers, Hades, Poseidon, and Zues the choice of a weapon.
Hades chose the helmet on invisibilty, Poseidon had the trident, and Zeus picked the thunderbolt. During the night before battle Hades used his helmet against his opponants and since he was invisible he went and destroyed all their weapons leading the younger generation into victory. After winning the battle all three of them had to decide who would rule what sections. After delebrating Zeus got Mountina Olympious, Poseidon received the ocean and of course Hades had the Underworld. As anyone
