HIIT Training Paper
Exercise training comes in many different forms and has been clinically proven to be an intervention that delays and sometimes prevents health issues concerning chronic diseases. To the general population this can be confusing as to what type and dose of exercise is needed to reap the benefits needed to ward of disorders and chronic diseases that are caused from the lack of physical inactivity.
High-Intensity interval training, otherwise known as HIIT training has been explored and researched extensively on the benefits physiologically and psychologically. This paper explores two articles that report on the physiological benefits of HIIT on the aerobic capacity (VO2 max), cardio metabolic risk, and psychological health.

    “Beating exercise addition” I felt, was more difficult of the two articles to read. Although this article was more challenging, the author tries to make it relatable. They not only gave great evidential reasons and explanations, but also gave examples of situations an individual with exercise addiction may find himself or herself in. For example, under the signs and symptoms category the author explains, “You set your goals which are unrealistic and unattainable (miles run, hours worked out, calories burned, and body fat percentage)” (“Beating Exercise Addiction,” 2012). One mechanism McGough prepares better in her article than the other is adding several doctor opinions and knowledge on the topic.
