Gymnastics Personal Statement
I am very enthusiastic about a career in accounting and finance. I feel passionately about a career in mathematics and money, I love and admire of math and all of it’s qualities. I have been enjoyed by math since I was 4 years old and my older brother would teach me what he had learned at school that day. At the age of 15 I won an award for the highest grades in mathematics in Scottish schools. Since then I have hoped to pursue a career in accountancy due to my love of math, accountancy and the economy.
I have always excelled at school, especially in math and business studies, but also in subjects like art, cookery and design technology. I think this is due to their methodical and precise nature, which I believe gives them something in common with accountancy.
Understanding, logic, analytical thinking and attention to detail are all important attributes you need to be successful in accountancy. Add these attributes to the

I stopped gymnastics when I became ill, but before the age of 16, I had won and competed in many gymnast ompetitions amd I had also preformed dozens of artist gymnastic plays alongside my team. My previous achievements include being the team captain for our artistic gymnastics team, where we preformed at the Edinburgh festival in 2008. Balancing my school life with the training required in gymnastics has been very demanding at times. I have gained experience of how to cope in a stressful and challenging enviroment and I know how to deal with pressure but also how to enjoy the success which comes from all of the hard work and dedication. In addition to this, I have learned about commitment as well as how to handle a loss, and also how to be a humble victor. The things I have learned from gymnastics will help me throughout my life; not only during University, but during my career and long afterward due to the precision, team work and dedication it takes to be a

Gymnastics requires hard work and dedication, but it is worth it because I genuinely love the sport. The skills are amazing, and it is a well-rounded sport that requires grace, strength, and flexibility. I have sacrificed many hours for gymnastics, but I have gotten a lot from it in return. I have met one of my best friends at gymnastics and some of my coaches have become like family to me. I have also discovered a lot about myself. Doing…

When I was in second grade I learned that I loved competing with people and being good at things. I joined a gymnastics gym near my house in second grade when i was 9, and started competing when i was 10. My mom told me that I have to do well in school if I was going to be focused on a sport along with school, or she would take me out of gymnastics. Soon enough, I wasn’t doing so well in social studies and comm skills. I was scared my mom would make me quit, But I worked as hard as I could so get back up there. Focusing more on school than outside activities, I got that grade back up and I continued with my favorite sport. I love gymnastics, but I don’t let it get in the way of school because school always comes first.…

Something I am very proud of was my wrestling career. Ever since I was four years old I was wrestling on the mat. Wrestling has shaped me into the man I am today by not only effecting me mentally but also physically. Wrestlers are known to be very hardworking and determined people. This grueling sport isn’t for everyone and many who begin wrestling when they are young will not stick with it. I believe this is why I was pulled to this sport so much and why I never quit; allowing myself to know that I can do something that most wouldn’t dare do. I feel that this will better equip me for my future endeavors and help me succeed when I get a job in the field of business. All the hard work and determination that I had spent on wrestling paid off in the end when I got to high school. Wrestling on a high school team became a very special experience to me, especially when I was selected captain of a team that never had a consistent coach. All four years of high school we had a different…

There are certain skills Accountants need to make their day run smooth; all of these skills aren’t necessarily taught. For example, Accountants need analytical skills to analyze certain discrepancies on a balance sheet or income statements. Most Accountants are detail oriented, and also have the ability to compile a lot of information and then interpret the meaning. Most of the work will be performed on a computer so Accountants need computer and software skills. Obviously, good math skills are another skill that an Accountant will have to utilize daily. Furthermore, Accountants will need excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and one can never forget lots of patience (Richardson, 2009).…

I knew once I walked into the Sears Centre Arena, that I would witness some of the best gymnasts in the world competing the most outrageous skills that there is to perform in the sport. As I was approaching the stadium, I thought of the different conjunctures that I would have the opportunity of witnessing as the competition proceeded. The three most memorable moments were when I saw Simone Biles on the powerful events of floor and vault, Ashton Locklear on the graceful bars, and Elena Arenas on the deplorable beam.…

I was in sports for my whole life, cheerleading specifically. I was always with my team, staying after school, and going to games. After I started high school though things changed cheer became a lot less about your skill level and a lot more about who you knew and how well you could suck up to the coach. The coach of the cheer team hated me she would set me aside from all the other girls and constantly poke fun at me and pick out my short comings. I would go home from practice everyday and cry to my mom. I would have horrible anxiety about going to practice and pretty soon everything that happened at cheer became my fault. I knew I was a pretty good cheerleader and constantly tried my hardest. For some reason it still wasn’t good enough. I…

Gymnastics enveloped my childhood. My wardrobe consisted mostly of multicolored leotards. My house was constantly dusted with white gymnastics chalk. My walls were covered in posters of Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson, Olympians who I idolized. Years of my life were spent transfixed on this sport which strives for a seemingly unattainable perfection. Yet, the dedication and discipline that gymnastics taught me will stay with me forever, and these traits have helped me to discover new goals, even in the wake of disappointment.…

So I chose to major in Accounting because I can work with numbers which I like. Also, it is a practical major because it is concise, but at the same time there is some kind of art involved. The artistic part lies in selecting the information that is relevant to the user and has faithful representation. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) defines accountancy as "...the art of recording, classifying, and summarizing in a significant manner and in terms of money..." transactions and events that are at least partly financial in character, and interpreting the results. I found my perfect combination of numbers and art, even though accounting is more than that.…
