You also take out auto insurance that protects you from its loss and its liability risks.

Unfortunately, many car owners don't actively think about liability coverage for their vehicles and drive around underinsured.

The same situation is true among too many firearm owners. Too little thought is given to the liability risk of gun ownership. In addition to proper usage by the owner, gun storage and firearm & concealed

These firearms include handguns, machine guns, rifles etc. People use these weapons for multiple reasons. Some use it for sport, for example: hunting or practicing at the gun range. Amidst all the raging debates regarding gun control, it is important to evaluate the issue from the perspective of the role that guns play in the lives of citizens. Crime has been on the rise in several American states. The rising cases of homicide in the past few years have prompted several states to implement stringent gun control laws that restrict purchase and possession of firearms by civilians. The American constitution allows civilians to own firearms for their own protection. However, this is not the main argument why gun control should not be allowed. This argument supports the need for Americans to protect themselves and their families. America does not need gun control but stringent policies that address the causes of gun misuse (Lott 83).…

Gun control deals with a lot of facts and statistics. Agresti and Smith from Just Facts provides excellent facts on gun control. The first fact is crime and self defense. In 2014, there were roughly 14,249 murders and about 68% of those were with a weapon.(Agresti, Smith, 2016) This information provides a visual representation of just how many are gun related and non-gun related. A survey from the U.S. Department of Justice showed that of the 5.9 million crimes, only 10% were with a visible gun. This data shows that a small amount of crimes actually were with a gun and puts things into a different perspective. Other data shows that guns weren’t necessarily used for shooting, rather a scare tactic for felons. Agresti and Smith stated, “A 1994 survey conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that Americans use guns to frighten away intruders who are breaking into their homes about 498,000 times per year.” This fact shows that guns aren’t always needed for its primary purpose and doesn’t hurt anyone. Guns when related to self-defense is very important and beneficial when compared to statistics. The next fact is background checks in the United States. The current federal law makes it illegal to purchase, possess, or transport firearms or ammunition if you fall under specific criteria. The criteria falls under the Gun Control Act (GCA) and it lists anyone that has been convicted for a…

“America has a crime problem, not a gun problem” states, Wayne Lapierre in “Crime is the Basic Problem, not Guns” in Texts and Contents. Crime is something that is always going to be around no matter what; therefore, preparing for any occasion might just save your life. Unfortunately not everyone is both mentally and physically strong enough to own and handle a gun. While some people prefer to leave crime related issues with the police, others rather not wait and protect themselves from the start. Handguns are extremely dangerous to own; thus, being pro on owning a gun can save your life when it comes down to burglaries, self defense, and ones families’ protection.…

While there have been over 25 mass public shootings from 2009 to 2014, overall violent crime and gun crime in the U.S. has dropped since the early 1990s, even though the number of firearms has increased by about 10 million every year. (Time) Gun control laws do not discourage crime; gun ownership discourages crime. ”States with the largest increases in gun ownership also have the largest drops in violent crime”(John R.Lott,Jr.). In 2014 a Pew Surveyed showed 57% of people believe that owning a gun protects them from being victimized. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. “In New York and New Jersey ,which have some of the strictest laws in the country, more than two-thirds of guns tied to criminal activity were traced to out-of-state purchases in 2014(New York Times).”Stricter gun control laws or restrictions do not stop purchasing firearms or criminal activity. More gun control laws do not need to be established, more education and gun safety should be enforced to prevent less accidental injuries and deaths. "Whether in the field, at the range or in the home, a responsible and knowledgeable gun owner is rarely involved in a firearms accident of any kind."(The Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute, Inc.).That is proof and studies to show that will just a little knowledge you can prevent accidental injuries and…

When the citizenry gain control on fire arms, the safety of the individual house hold tend to increase, in the detail paragraphs more will be discussed on the same topic. Despite all the gun caused tragedies, I believe that gun possession should not be held responsible of death caused in the general public, as gun is not the only tool that causes tragedy, therefore it is merely a ways but not the solely cause. Further more, due to legalization of guns in the U.S. the sales of guns have always being a income for the country, hence denying the right to own guns can be as bad as denying the income of the government; In addition, some of the heavy industries that are mainly in to the production of firearms faces bankruptcy in times that the nation do not need that much of weapons; hence due the consumption abilities generated by the citizens of the United States of America(Annually government receives $6 billions estimated revenue on firearms etc), this country is not likely to be affected by situations as such. In other aspect the income can be positively maintained while avoiding such tragic situation. (Sanburn, J, 2012)…
