What other changes would you suggest to Grolsch's historical strategy or historical mode of entry?

Although Grolsch achieves great success in global market, there are still some suggestions I want to give to its historical strategy.
First, there is high shipping cost in certain import countries due to the geographic segmentation such as US, Canada, Australia and some of the Grolsch’s global markets have high transport cost. And there is high segment of selling revenue is from US which means that Grolsch should focus more on the distribution part on US to reduce the cost and get the higher profit.
Second, I suggest the Grolsch should focus more on the globalization of the Grolsch instead of the Amsterdam because Grolsch Premium Lager, represented 90% of the company’s domestic volume and two-thirds of all exports belongs to Grolsch Premium which sold in many markets globally. However, I also suggest Amsterdam only selling on North Europe not only because Amsterdam only distributed small amounts of beer such as Grimbergen but also the transition fee is relatively high compared with Grolsch which have large amount to sell and export. Furthermore, to expand the globalization is costly for the Amsterdam compared with Grolsch Premium because the Grolsch already have the market and reputation in foreign countries.
Thirdly, I think Grolsch should get improvement in own company instead of merger other company until it has been stable. Because as we seen from the last question, the Grolsch failed twice in getting new merger which increased large amount of cost which can be avoided.

    In November 2007, SAB Miller, the world´s second largest brewer,1 announced the friendly takeover of the world’s 51st largest, Royal Grolsch N.V. of the Netherlands, for €816m in cash - 84% more than Grolsch’s value over the previous month. Nick Fell, SABMiller’s Marketing Director, explained the logic of the deal: “[Grolsch is] a fantastic brand. It’s North European, it’s a fantastic product, it’s got unimpeachable brewing credentials and authenticity and credibility. And it’s a damn good product. So for anybody interested in developing their premium beer business, this is an absolute peach of a brand to get hold of… we see huge potential for it in our global footprint, particularly in markets like Latin America and Africa where we’ve got a strong route to market but where the premium beer business is still in its infancy.”2 Grolsch had hitherto focused on developed markets, particularly the UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and France, in pursuit of its goal of becoming one of the world’s top 10 global beer brands. Groslch was already the world’s 21st largest global brand, measured by international (nondomestic) volume (see Exhibit 1). International volume had grown to account for slightly over onehalf of total volume and, going forward, seemed to offer much more potential. Drinkers often rated Grolsch higher than larger brands, including Heineken, the top global brand as well as the leader in Grolsch’s home market (see Exhibit 2). And Grolsch had started up a state-of-the art brewery in 2004 that could be expanded at little incremental cost. The acquisition closed and in February 2008, Grolsch became an independent subsidiary of SABMiller. Rob Snel, head of Grolsch International since 1999 and an employee since 1984, was named Grolsch’s new CEO shortly thereafter.     Grolsch, a company with a strong history and a highly rated product, has just been purchased by SABMiller. The company is evaluating its global strategy in light of the acquisition and determining how to position and sell its beer going forward. Grolsch has positioned itself well to compete internationally and has leveraged several tools (e.g. the MABA framework, strategic analysis) to effectively expand abroad. However, they must assess whether or not the MABA framework is still useful, what type of international strategy they should pursue (i.e. developed vs. developing markets), and if their adaptation strategies will continue to be an asset in their business development. The initial conclusion, detailed below, is that Grolsch should expand the MABA framework while also leveraging and recognizing the value of SABMiller’s distribution network. They need to maintain focus on international markets, looking at both developed and developing markets to diversify growth opportunities. Success for Grolsch depends on how well they can identify markets where their high-end, premium product will be desirable. But, it will also depend on their ability to adapt the brand image and marketing approach based on the cultural differences of the foreign markets they enter.     Heineken uses an international strategy that involves using cross-border deals to increase their distribution of over 250 beer brands in over 175 countries. The company has also acquired many different small brewers all over the world to add to their portfolio and increase access to new markets. Due to this strategy, Heineken currently operates over 125 breweries in over 70 countries and holds 10% of the global beer market. The company’s main entry mode into foreign markets involves foreign direct investment through acquisitions that give Heineken a great degree of ownership and control. They gain control of the whole brewery, so they expand by way of wholly owned subsidiaries. Heineken’s international acquisition strategy allows the company to increase market share and presence in their industry across the world, and do not have to worry about the added costs associated with creating new brands. It is difficult to pinpoint exactly what strategy for globalization Heineken has used, since they acquire these brands with already developed and successful products and allow them to stay as their own brands. I would describe Heineken’s strategy to be most similar to a transnational strategy. A transnational strategy is based on firms optimizing the trade-offs that go along with efficiency, local adaptation, and learning, where the pressures for local adaptation and lowering costs are high. A company using this strategy, seeks efficiency but as a means to achieve global competitiveness, as does Heineken.…
