Graduation Speech: Humble And Kind By Tim Mcgraw
Our teachers love us and always want us to do our best. Sometimes we don’t realize how much they care about us. They love us and are going to be so sad when we leave. They don’t know it but we love them too, most of the time! Some ways they express that is through songs. They want us to stay Humble and Kind like Tim McGraw, leave our legacy like The Script, and always know that we are one of a kind like Pink. These messages are the three things that we need in our lives forever.
“Childhood stars shine, always stay humble and kind.” Our teachers picked Humble and Kind by Tim McGraw because they want us to know that no matter what happens in life we need to stay the good christian people we are. This is my favorite song and means a lot to me.

We are always asked what we want our legacy to be. Well, I want my legacy to be exactly what I want it to be. That I’m kind, humble, outgoing, that I don’t care what people say, a good leader, and much more. I know that Gage has been a handful this year, but I have to say I love the little guy. I want him to always remember me as his faith family leader. I want to always run up and hug me when I see him. “Standing in the hall of fame, and the world’s gonna know your name” I want Gage to always remember my name. Pink tells us to always stay true to who we are. Our teachers want us to know that we are one of a kind. “No one can be just like me anyway.” This song tells us that there is no one like us. “So I can get it running, just cause nobody’s done it, y’all don’t think I can run it, But look, I’ve been here, I’ve done it, Impossible?” This tells us to just keep going in life, no matter what happens. This also tells us that nothing is impossible. Anything is possible with our strength. These three songs will shape our lives for the better. I completely understand why our teachers would pick these songs. This is definitely their way of saying goodbye. I will try to always live by these songs. I will always try to stay “Just like fire”, live in the hall of fame, and always be humble and

That is one of the problems with the world today. Society has grown so accustomed to things like big, rich music and luxurious technology that they feel like they need impressive things. The simplicity of the song is what drives the message of the song home the most. Everything in McKenna’s lyrics are simple things that parents have always told their children. This song is a reminder that to live a great life, sometimes the simple things matter the…

And one of the best country music artists when it comes to life quotes; comes from the song “Remember When” by Country Music Hall of Famer Alan Jackson “Remember when the sound of little feet, was the music we danced to week to week, brought back the love, we found trust, vowed we’d never give it up, remember…

Prior to actually stepping foot into the classroom, I was not prepared to deal with the kinds of real problems that many of my students were facing. Problems such as abuse, neglect, hunger, out-all-night mothers, and jailed fathers were and still are common for many of them. When I found that many of these children performed below expectations in their academic classes, I eagerly began to try to find ways to assist. As a music educator, I began teaching and composing songs and chants to help motivate students to do their best and make big dreams, regardless of social issues that affect them. I began to collaborate with their home room teachers to incorporate the areas that needed reinforcement into my…

Have you ever thought about what is being sung in the song? Did you think about the meaning of the text? Probably yes. So, you have noticed that some songs are about how two people love each other, others about how could he/she leave him/her. In thirds you do not even know what singer wants to say. But also of course you heard some songs where the singer mocks at something. Where he makes fun of people, their behavior, their habits. Pink is not exception.…

Your vote decides if Pennsylvania ratifies the Declaration of Independence. Should you vote in favor? The British wouldn’t bother you anymore, but at least they gave you supplies. I should vote against, your brain says. Again, it says, I should vote against.…

For my song I picked Garth Brooks “The River.” I consider this song to be very meaningful. This song is about chasing your dreams and never giving up on what you believe in, reminding us that life is shorter than we think and if we just stand on the shore watching the river go by, then life will be gone before we know it. Garth Brooks uses a lot of psychological concepts in this song, such as, Attitude, Affect, Motivation, Optimism, and Behavior. Garth Brooks says, “A dream is like a river.” A dream changes, just like a river changes. As life changes, the river can be calm then strong then calm again, so our path in life change. Garth Brooks says that “He will sail his vessel until the river runs dry.” To me this mean no matter what life throws…

At first my mom and dad tried to hide the divorce from us and lie about why one parent wasn't here when the other one was, and that really made an impact on me, but my brother doesn't remember much so it doesn't effect him like it does me. I was old enough to realize that something wasn't right only because I knew who they both really were on the inside and something was missing from them. This song represents a time in my life when my life was really hard and going downhill. I started failing tests and getting really low scores on our STAR tests. I believe that the hardest part for me was that they lied about everything because I will never forget that wether they know that or…

Teaching is sacrificial and it is a calling for those who have a servant’s heart. I am frequently reminded of a student in my Beginning Band class two decades ago. His name was Carlton and he was a special needs student in sixth grade. Carlton desperately wanted to learn to play the Baritone horn well enough that he could perform on the Spring Band Concert but band rehearsals were short and he needed more help. So, he and I agreed that he would skip recess and I would skip lunch a few times each week to practice together. Carlton played on that concert and him doing so was just as rewarding to me as it was to him.…

As a class, we have endured changes throughout the years from being split up in the classroom ( Port Allen on one side and Erwinville on the other) as if we were on the bus with Rosa Parks to being untied, from having a teacher and coming back from Christmas break wondering who was going teach us geometry, a change in administration, down to dances from the dougie to “jiggin” and now to dabbin. Through it all I am glad to say we made it; we survived ebola, Oscar Proud, the Predator, Maleficent. Ms. Morgan’s test, Ms. Roger’ solid advice, and the King of Shade worksheets Mr. Seal’s himself. Also for some of you relationship after relationship. All of these good…

Now it was time to enjoy the rest of my senior year. Too bad being apart of Dimensional Harmony (the schools choir) didn’t exactly allow me to relax and have fun. I was worried about the Nationals competition. It got to one point where Mr. Frederick got agitated with the seniors because he claimed we weren’t “doing our jobs as seniors.” What he meant by that was, people missing rehearsals or coming in late, or even missing performances. The underclassmen even tried to take the leadership position from us. We were so focused about ourselves and getting into college. That we weren’t being considerate of the other members. I mean, was it wrong that we were trying to better ourselves and attempt to graduate and go off to college? So we started putting more effort into our rehearsals, we got stronger, worked harder, spent more of our free time working on our parts until we could sing it in our sleep. Finally the day comes we were ready to…

Prior to the first encounter of the song, I had experience dramatic changes in my life. My best friend had moved back to Brazil, I transferred schools, and the economy was still affecting my family. Unfortunately for me I was coping with these circumstances at the age of 12. Transferring and losing my best friend was difficult but then my parents had lost our house and our lifestyle was modified. Peachtree Charter Middle School was the worst decision my parents had made for me. I was bullied when I had transferred and I had no friends. The one friend I had at Peachtree was Allison, and she had transferred into a different school. I spent most of my middle school experience trying to survive the…
