Graduation Speech: Corpus Christi School
To the home in which I was part of for twelve (12) years from Nursery to 4th Year High School, Corpus Christi School stands as one of the most outstanding schools in Mindanao for 45 years already. To be part of this Christ-centered co-educational and non-sectarian institution has been one of the most remarkable milestones in my whole life. According to my dearest alma mater’s school handbook, this institution has evolved its dogma within these principles:
A Corpus Christian upon graduation is
1. Motivated by Christian values and ideals
2. Imbued with love for country
3. Has a well-integrated character
4. Constantly works towards excellence
5. And is committed to leading, serving and working well with others.
All these principles are the

The faculty is having quite some time discussing and revising lesson plans and modules in order to keep up with the pacing going on in my school. There was a need to compress the content by adding more subjects. For instance, the Math subject has already two subjects, Math A and Math B. Math A will deal with Intermediate Math while Math B serves as a refresher course for the previous Math A of the previous year and at the same time a preparatory course for geometry and trigonometry. For Science, Science has been divided to Science A and Science B. For 9th grade students, Science A is Chemistry while Science B is Physics. For English, there is English I and English II. English I deals with Oral Communication and Writing while English II is mainly about Reading. All these subjects have been congested in one school year for these Grade 9 and Grade 10 students. Thus, it is indeed a challenge for the teachers to make the academic year for these students substantial or else, the students would lose the essence for learning because of the pressure brought to them by the K-12 …show more content…
Since our institution does not have a college level, most students who graduated from the Honors Class in Grade 10 plan on transferring to the school’s rival school, Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan. This is because the students believe the said rival school is more equipped compared to their present alma mater when it comes to the Senior High School Level. Of course, since Corpus Christi School would not give up on aspiring for excellence and would not give up on its students, the school prepared scholarships for the recently “moved up” students to give them more opportunities and to further widen their options.
All these things aforementioned are by far the challenges our school faces today. At this point, the following are the developments covered by our school:
1. Another campus, Corpus Christi School-Pueblo de Oro Campus has been established in uptown Cagayan de Oro so that Corpus Christi School can further extend its prestigious education to more students and to further accommodate the facilities needed by the school for Senior High School students.
2. The school ranked as one of the Top 10 Schools in Mindanao during the PAASCU (Private Association of Accredited Schools, Colleges & Universities) Accreditation visit recently in 2015. (Mindanao Gold Star Daily,

Hello, I am so honored to speak in front of all the parents, staff and my fellow students today. Wow guys we made it! These past 3 years have been full of so many memories that I know we’ll never forget. Think all the way back to 6th grade we were always the littlest ones and I remember feeling like a fish out of water. We were terrified of getting lost or being late for class, but excited to have a locker to decorate and change classes each period. It doesn’t seem like that was over 2 years ago at all. We came back in 7th grade, much more confident than the year before. We looked down to the new 6th graders, asking "Were we really that short just last year?" And by the end of 7th grade I was shocked that I was officially an 8th grader. 8th grade is defiantly my favorite year. I feel like I have everything under control. But next year is full of changes. We'll have free periods, more homework, electives, and an open campus. The new choices also bring new responsibilities that test us in figuring out how we grow from kids to adults. As we say goodbye on the last day we sit together as Balboa students, we reflect on what has happened the past 3 years, but also look forward to what is coming up in the next 4 years. My advice to future 8th graders is to keep up with your school work and try your absolute best and make lots of good, loyal friends that don’t get you in the bad kind of crowd. And most importantly, have fun! This is the last year you will be the oldest in the school for another 4 years, so enjoy it! I’d like to finish this speech off with this quote : A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.-Ayn Rand…

In 1863, while the American Civil War raged far south of New York City, the metropolis witnessed widespread violence upon its African-American residents. Some poor and working class whites, unable to pay for exemption from the Union army draft resented this inequality and feared the economic competition and potential social changes resulting from the abolition of slavery by the Emancipation Proclamation of 1862. Further, some bitterly resented being drafted to fight for the freedom of slaves, when free blacks in New York, because they were not citizens at the time, were not subject to the draft. The anger toward blacks and the social tensions of the time culminated in the Civil War Draft Riots of 1863, the greatest civil crisis in the history of New York City. The Union League Club of New York was formed 150 years ago to support…

One thing people have always told me is that I remind them of the person Randall Cobb from the book game changers. He has one of the most creative and unique personalities. He is passionate for the game of basketball by working hard on his time. Randall is also talented in the subjects math and science by pushing himself to make good grades. He also thrives to help people even if it's with school work, personal problems, or on the basketball court. All in all he was almost exact the same person as I am he likes basketball, he helps others, and he does well in school.…

During our educational tour dated September 11-13, we’ve gone to Cebu City, the Queen City of the South. I, together with my co-students who are second year, third year and fourth year witnessed how it was really great to be exposed in some schools around Cebu. We are there not only to merely have fun; rather we are there to learn lots of things that are in line with our chosen field or specializations. We’ve gone to different schools namely CNU (Cebu Normal University), Cebu Braille Center, SWU (Southwestern University). USJR (University of San Jose Recoletos), Saint Ezekiel Moreno Learning Center, Lapu-Lapu City Elementary School and Mandaue Sped Center. All of these schools provided all the needs that every student/pupil is to acquire as it is concern in educational system.…
