Graduation Speech: A Short Story Of Ted Cruz
I honestly, pay attention to everything. Not all Republicans are bad. There is one I actually respect. He has been standing up against the rest of them. He called out the so called majority speaker on his lies. He fights for the American people in Congress. The guy looks scared shitless when doing it but he keeps on them. His name is Ted Cruz. I hope he gets to the presidency.

His speech contain mostly about reality in life and how to overcome it by changing the way of thinking. By using example as his explanation,…

As we consider the various constituencies of the Republican Party, we should keep in mind that a political party is a fluid entity, and often cannot be neatly categorized. Many voters will fall into more than one voting constituency described. It is fairly common, for instance, for a voter to exist somewhere in between the Christian Right and the "Yellow Dog" groups. That is, they highly value the Republican Party as their political home, yet they share many of the ideas of the Christian Right. It is useful to consider the following constituencies as voting "tendencies" rather that neat boxes in which to place voters.…

I haven’t stopped running since May of 2013, and truth be told, I’m getting kind of tired of it. Not of the sweat, the fact that my legs are constantly sore, the nuisance of cycling all of my workout clothes through the wash every week, or even the fact that I still look like the skinniest guy in the gym. No, I’m getting tired of all the other baggage that’s come with it.…

John Coyle the speaker of my Ted Talk talked about strengths and weaknesses. Coyle encouraged his audience to focus more on their strengths rather that their weaknesses. Coyle believed that if a person worked too long to improve their weaknesses, then it is obvious that they can’t improve those weaknesses, and should move on to focusing on their strengths. Therefore, the best thing to do is to move on to building up their strengths, because they can surely improve their strengths. According to the author of the book The Other Wes Moore, Wes never took the time to focus on his weaknesses in school. Wes focused on what he thought as an easy way to make money by selling drugs. He had a strength to manage,…

As Texas' governor, Rick Perry did not have a great record on race-based issues. He signed into law the controversial voter-ID bill which disproportionately burdened minorities trying to vote. He also advocated immigration policies that discriminated against Latinos. Most recently, he weighed in on the question of whether states should remove the Confederate flag from government property by saying that was a matter for the states, effectively dodging taking a real stand on an important issue. Overall, Rick Perry is the last person anyone expected to talk about race in a compassionate and inclusive way.…

Some of the things that I agree with on the republican side is their stance on abortion and gun control. I agree that things such as Planned Parenthood should be shut down. I feel as if a person should not be able to abort a baby just because they want to. There are better options such as adoption, for people to turn to rather than just getting rid of a baby…

Good morning everyone today I will talk about why Donald Trump should not be elected president of the United States. I think Donald Trump will never be elected president of U.S.A as he is making all of these crazy ideas like proposing to build a wall between Mexico and America and making Mexico pay for it. He also always thinks he is correct and has a hard time admitting that he is wrong. He plans to ban all Muslims until he knows what is going on and better security precautions are made.…

All republicans share the same ideal of a limited government. Most Americans know this about the Republican Party but they do not know is the stances that the party takes on current political issues. Specifically, the Republican Party believes that there should be unlimited private funding for campaigns. Also, the party does not want any additional taxations on citizens. This is because republicans believe that there are already enough taxes. Also they believe that there should be little to no descriptions for gun owners because the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution protects gun owner’s rights. In addition, the Republican platform supports abortion and immigration restrictions. In order to improve the wellbeing of the citizens, the republicans believe that all children should receive a quality education. They also believe that job creation is needed in order to keep the economy growing and thriving (“Republican Platform”). All these stances are thought to be conservative because the views support traditional values and show that the republicans are more cautious about change in America. Conan O’Brien gave his commencement speech at Dartmouth in 2011, congratulating the graduating class and imparting a few words of wisdom.During his speech, he appealed mostly to pathos and ethos, being as this was a commencement speech, there wasn’t very much need to appeal to logos using stats or facts. He used pathos to appeal to the graduating students by telling about his falling out with NBC and how he came back to fame with his talk show on TBS. He said “I am here to tell you that whatever you think your dream is now, it will probably change. And that’s okay.” When saying that, he was telling them that it’s okay to be faced with failure or a change of plans, that it’s not the end of the world. He talked about failure and whether you fear it, or not, you will at some point be faced with disappointment. Through the use of his personal stories of struggle, failure, and success, he appeals to the emotions. But even throughout these stories, he would still sometimes slip in a humorous line to keep it light hearted and not too gloomy, which a commencement speech should all but not be.…
