Organizational culture is not a new concept in the world of organizational behavior. Yet despite its age, it still has many varied definitions as well as philosophies on its importance and impact to the success of a company. One definition is that organizational culture is a cognitive framework consisting of attitudes, values, behavioral norms, and expectations shared by members of an organization (Greenberg, 2013, p. 368). (Gundykunst & Ting-Toomey, 1988). “Culture is to the organization what personality is to the individual – a hidden yet unifying theme that provides meaning, direction, and mobilization” (Kilman, Saxton, & Serpa, 1985).…

However, on her graduation day, she feels frustrated and shadowy because Mr. Donleavy, a white man, delivers a speech to the graduating class of 1940. At first, Angelou is quite excited because she is proud of her academic achievements; besides that, she is also about to make a speech in front of many students. In addition, her mother also gives her a fancy dress with an abundance of embroideries and frills. Furthermore, many people also praise her of her wisdom. When Mr. Donleavy makes his speech, Angelou feels disappointed and bitter because his speech includes too much racism. In the uninspired speech, he says a little improvement will be done in black school, while a lot advanced equipment is offered in Central School (a white school). He also mentioned that all the black should pursue is those jobs at the bottom of the society such as maids and farmers.…

I find myself to be a very photogenic person. Birthday parties, vacations and other special events are all recorded in photographs in my room. One specific picture hanging up on my wall, is forever engraved in my mind. I often catch a glimpse of it in the evenings when I come home. I grab it, lay on my bed and go back to the best night of my life. The image in the 4x7 thick rectangular photograph was a moment captured by my father.
