GRADE 10 FAVOURITE SEASON ESSAY
People walk around in groups, they sit together and they’re never isolated. They become closer. The trees are bare and some still wear their glossy green leaves. You’d think people would stay at home but they are more active as ever.
Sleep is much appreciated by all. The roasting blankets send you to paradise. The mornings are dreadful, getting off the bed to take a shower is a difficult task but the countdown to go hit the hay begins again! Once at school, everyone has two fingers on their lips pretending that they’re smoking as the water vapour transpires. The tuck-shop has a new menu and the introduction of hot chocolate causes frenzy.
Everyone seems to be getting larger. Their silhouettes are bulkier from the layers of clothing they have on. The cups on their hands are letting off steam. A day doesn’t pass without caffeine. Fingers benumb and gloves fly-off the shelves, students moan when they have to take off their beanies. People fancy their chocolate hot, in a liquid state and their tea without the ice.
As the people put on more layers, nature detaches them. The leafy, lush forests become dull, grey woods. The stars illuminate earlier and the sun awakes later. Feathered flocks flee further up the equator and bears hibernate to avoid chilly days.
Living in the southern hemisphere has its perks. There are days where all the layers of clothing fall off and the streets are filled with skin, in abundance! The sun’s warmth radiates once in a while and everybody just soaks in the rays. It’s a pleasant escape from the daily coldness. Don’t get me wrong! I love winter but the few days of sunshine are really worth cherishing. Once the beloved star fades away again and the blue-black nights return, winds break loose and make you miss the sun even more. The last few leaves clinching unto the branches are blown off and left to rot on the ground.
The brown leaves ruffling on the ground and the absence of birds creates a harmonic sound. Heavy, dark clouds release rain

The climate during that period was colder which made it hard for the hominids to settle in one place. As soon as the supply of food runs out in the area where they settled, they migrated to places that have favorable weather and enough food resources that can sustain the group. By the end of the Paleolithic period, there were human societies in different regions of the globe. As humans moved and settled from one place to another, their bodies adjusted to different climates and conditions that resulted to differences in the development of physical attributes and built among human beings. The wintery atmosphere is far away as I open my eyes, encased in a cocoon of commodious blankets. For a brief moment in time, I am alone. The troubles of the day haven’t taken their accustomed spot at the forefront of my thoughts, and I lie unmarred in a cloud of comfort. Tangled limbs unfold like tree branches and extend into the indulgent sky. These hands are strangers, flexing with no aim other than to be alive. Air cascades into cavernous lungs, replacing the scant breaths that come along with sleeping. My commitments have yet to rupture…

Due to climate change, the weather became warmer and wetter. Climate change caused areas surrounding the Fertile Crescent to grow plants of wild food. The Natufians decided to settle in the Fertile Crescent, which caused them to be sedentary. Their population started the grow dramatically. They discovered farming to feed their families.…
