The use of his style shows that Muslim Americans do not want to associate themselves with terrorists like Omar Mateen the Orlando shooter whom he calls a “monster” and that he is trying to provide reasons that not all Muslims Americans represent a terrorist-like character. Using the word monster to describe Mateen, he points out the mistake most people make when they see a Muslim individual having more in common with a terrorist, in which it is made clear that he and other Muslim Americans do not support or associate themselves with an idiotic psychopath as he describes. Furthermore, Ansari takes a literal approach to Donald Trump’s quote to the American Muslim community that they know “who the bad one are” implying that they are all involved in terrorists attack and should be banned. His comparison is that if the people who caused the recession of 2007-2008 would fit Trump’s logic of banning all white males to protect the American economy. Pointing out the faults in Donald Trump’s reasonings is the main point being addressed, and is using language to show the ridiculousness of his logic and how he disassociates himself with terrorists like Omar Mateen, whom he calls a monster. His simple solution to the problem of terrorism may be…

The instigation of expert opinion is framed through the seminal white Australian voices that authenticate and ratify Balendra’s intentions of representing the Muslim Australians as victims of ill-sentiment and bigotry. Consequentially, the compulsion to ostracise the Australian middle-eastern community becomes an “un Australian” constant of Balendra’s documentary. And it’s through this deliberate directorial ploy where the underlying message of the film is…

Trump’s stupidity and vices. Throughout the article, Ali illustrates his points of view that having ID cards assigned to Muslims is ridiculous and he places humor in his article to display just how much he is in disagreement with Donald Trump’s ideas. Alia proved that he successfully responded to satirically to Trump’s proposal by the use of humor, irony, and exaggeration in his article. Nonetheless, Alia was the perfect journalist to write the article as he is an American Muslim and the topic at hand was very personal to him as he has lived with the scrutiny of being a Muslim throughout his lifetime. In conclusion, Ali was very successful in creating a satirical article that was able to draw people in and make them want to read the entire article as it made readers laugh over a current political…

Oooo. Mr. Prime minister, allow us to summarize what the President of our country Afghanistan was meant to say: our neighboring Islamic country Pakistan not only have been selling us for fraction of what we're worth to other countries around the world for decades, but also have been killing us for centuries now. Hopefully it didn't surprise any one, because this is nothing new to Afghans in Afghanistan, our neighboring Islamic and non Islamic countries in the region, United States of America, United Nations, and to the rest of us around the world. Most of Pakistan's peaceful killings started when our other kind neighboring country Russia occupied us very secretly, without Pakistan or any other Islamic countries in the region were noticing.…

When mountaineer Greg Mortenson first encountered the people of rural Pakistan, he was easily able to recognize the problems they faced every day. The people were isolated, embattled, impoverished, malnourished and exploited. But what shocked Greg the most was that most people did not have the opportunity to receive an education. The memoir Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Relin describe Mortenson’s struggle to bring education and empowerment to the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan. While it was easy for Greg to identify the problems of life in the Middle East, the leaders and public Western Hemisphere ignores them. For years, the relationships between Western society and the Middle East have been characterized by suspicion and stereotypes. The Middle East has often been depicted as a primitive land of warfare and violence. The graphic images of the newsreels often replace reality and thus ruin the public perception of the people in the Middle East. In the book Three Cups of Tea, author Greg Mortenson challenges the ideas, attitudes, and images associated with the people of Afghanistan and Pakistan. In order to gain support for his cause, Mortenson uses pathos and imagery as rhetorical devices to humanize the misrepresented people of the Middle East.…
