Goodnight Mr Tom
In the essay, I have to describe and explain the character that I liked and disliked in the text and a response to both parts of the question. The title of the novel is called “Goodnight Mr Tom” by “Michelle Magorian”.
The character I liked in the novel the most is Willie. This young boy came from the city side where he is treated harshly by his parents. This “thin and sick-looking pale with limy sandy hair” boy is called Willie in the novel, which he was evacuated out of the city from the causes of the “Blitz” happening there. He was sent along by his parents into the country side to be protected and kept save away from the bombing. The boy is one passionate kid, he does lots of things like loving the fresh breezes and sunny and “Little Wier”.
Willie is most important and most interesting character in the text. It really made me very curious about him, that way he acted and how was treated when he was young. He clearly was my most liked character by how he was raised by his parents –strict and religious. I liked how his shy, timid, socially and sometimes awkward. This character reflects on me a lot because this how I acted when, I go/enter someone’s home or house. Also I can be sometimes liked this when, I’m in a room of people that I do not know. It creates a visual for me to understand how he felt that time when he was left home with someone who he doesn’t know and that’ll be taking care of him. I also liked the things about Willie is that he has patience’s, he gave the person (Mr Tom) some time so he can understand him a bit better and be able to have some connections.
I don’t dislike anything about Willie in the text. He has a great personality, so there’s no need for Willie to have any disliked list or category. But there is more things to like about Willie, like how his sees passion through Zach, Mr Tome, local friends and his painting and his acting. His hobbies are like what ordinary kid do example; us we are young and did all of this things like-

He has a few similar traits to Willy Loman. They are both loud, funny, and they both seem to want the same thing in life, which is to achieve the American Dream. These two characters are men that do not make a lot of money, but they have this imagination that they will eventually be rich one day. Boy Willie’s super objective from the beginning of the play to the end is to sell the piano that is in his sister Berniece’s house. The reason why he wants to sell the piano so bad is because he wants to use the money to buy the land his ancestors once worked as slaves on. I believe that Boy Willie is so passionate about owning this land because he would feel a sense of accomplishment. Another reason why I think that Boy Willie wants to buy the land is because he knows how much pain and suffering his ancestors went through, so that one day he can be alive and succeed.…

The main character in this book is Nelly. (She is also the author- Nelly S. Toll) She was only six when the Germans invaded Poland. She kept a diary, and wrote in it almost every day about the horrors that surrounded her, of hiding in a room, hoping not to be found, and of surviving under all the pressure. Nelly loved to draw, and create watercolors. (A lot of her drawings are in the book) Nelly was very nice and loving, and was never mean to anybody. She loved her mother, and took care of her if she was in need.…

The novel ‘Small Island’ by Andrea Levy surrounds the happenings of four characters in 1948 after World War II, when England was just about recovering from the terror the war had caused and, more specific to the novel, when there was a sudden influx of foreigners immigrating to Britain. Levy takes on the voices of four individual and vastly different characters in the novel and attempts to tell us their stories and their dreams, hopes and also their defeat in trying to attain them. Levy’s talent in changing between the four narrative voices and has told the story has been greatly praised as it has enabled her to produce four vividly imaginable characters that all have their own defined personality. The way in which she portrays these four characters is what I am going to look into in this essay.…

From the beginning of the play it is noticed that Willie does not accept the status that the dominant whites have given to him. When Guy explains to Tobias how he must behave 'yes baas, no bass, thank you bass even if he kicks you in the backside' Willie gets upset and shouts 'Stop it, damn you!'. It is evident that Willie is angry and discontented with his current position. Although he does not accept it, he has no choice but to live with it. As a result he feels an overwhelming unhappiness 'loneliness melancholy, despair'. He made a mistake believing that education was an escape. He realizes that even if he is educated, he is no one because of his skin colour. This rude awakening brings across a feeling of anger and hopelessness "Bloody Ass! That's what I think of B.A". All that he ever hoped and dreamed for was impossible. He is sick of being…
