Good Manners Are Infectious
From my perspective,it is my belief that good manners are infectious. As we all know, smiles are infectious. So do good manners.First of all,as we all live in a society,we cannot escape the influence of others any more than we can escape the influence of the air that we breathe. Thus, more or less, showing good manners can have a positive effect on those around us.For example, when other people are waiting outside politely for people in the elevator to get off first, will you rush into the elevator?Or when you are in a library where most of the people keep quite, will you answer a phone or making some big noise without scruple? We don't exclude the possibility that some people will do this. However,I think the majority would follow the good examples.Being exposed to good manners, people are more likely to behave properly. Furthermore,I am convinced that good manners are powerful, for they can polish one's personality and help people to reach out the one another with less barriers.Encouraging good manners can help set a fine example to the public and guide people to set up a correct morality.Like a contagious disease, good manners spread among people and slightly make some changes. These changes, slight as they may seem, can really make a different. If everyone has developed good manners, people will form a more harmonious relation. With the behavior of people improved, there will be progress in society. In a word, good manners are infectious and we should try to obtain

One solution presented by Tarshis is to pay attention to the needs of others in public spaces (19). Notice that others are keeping a distance or giving distaining looks is a certain indicator to tone down the action causing disruption. On occasion, people just have bad habits to which they are unaware; therefore, someone must take responsibility to inform them when they are committing this disruptive act (Tarshis 17). Often times, people are leery to speak up in public situations because they are afraid of being classified as rude themselves. This fear breeds the rude behavior that is rampant in our country; therefore, in order to help curtail rude behavior a person only need to politely educate others related to changes that may alter current…

Firstly I fell one of the most important things to teach a person is manners, especially to children. Moreover, I always try to be courteous. I think being well mannered and considerate is a key factor of courtesy and I do my best not to hurt others’ feelings or annoy them. It is also important to be honest, especially with people you have known for a long time. Lies turn out to be lies after time. It takes a lot of effort and time to build trust, but it can be broken even with the smallest lie. In terms of honesty, I try to remember the quote saying ‘Characters build slowly, but it can be torn down with great swiftness.’ I know how fragile trust can be, so I put honesty as one of my top instrumental values. I am of belief…

Something as simple as showing appreciation for someone’s kind gesture should not be hard to do. For example if a person holds open the door for you, in return, the person should be thanked. According to a study lead by Glenn Fox, Ph.D., a psychology researcher at University of Southern California, only 19% of 194 strangers thanked the person holding the door. Those numbers shows how distraught society…
