The goliath frog, or conraua goliath, is the world’s largest frog. From nose to toes, it maxes out at about twelve and a half inches, and can weigh just under eight pounds. Unlike most frogs, these don’t have the ability to make mating calls, and instead create a breeding ground along rivers and streams. The frog is found primarily in Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon, at least naturally. A big reason for the goliath frog’s status as endangered is because of the zoo and pet demands. Other significant contributions include habitat destruction, as well as the fact that native people consider it a tasty delicacy.
