God Is Love
GOD IS LOVE
"God is Love." This simple yet complex statement is found only twice1, 2 in the Bible and is commonly presented out of context. It is generally misunderstood and often circulated in a fashion that leads many into Hell. The statement –while very easy to make and accept when presented in its undefined form– has a depth of reality far beyond what the average person wants to know even though such knowledge is critical to salvation. 1. "Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love." [1 John 4:8 ] 2. "We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us*.
God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him." [1 John 4:16]
* This usage of the term "us" refers only to men of faith. In the following important prelude to the above passages the term "if" is used five (5) times. Entry into eternal life must always be considered as conditional:
"Now this is the message that we have heard from him and proclaim to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all. If we say, "We have fellowship with him," while we continue to walk in darkness, we lie and do not act in truth. But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of his Son Jesus cleanses us from all sin. If we say, "We are without sin," we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we acknowledge our sins,3 he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from every wrongdoing. If we say, "We have not sinned," we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." [1 John 1:5-10] 3. "Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained." [John 20:23] — This authority was given by Jesus to the eleven apostles –even though only ten were present at the time– and to their validly ordained successors on Easter Sunday during His first visitation with them. All validly ordained priests (also known by the terms presbyters and elders) have

The example of a hazelnut presented by Julian fully explains the occasionally confusing concept of God’s love, as it lists three qualities that everything in creation has. Julian explains these qualities as “God made it, God loves it, and God keeps it.” (p. 292). These simple qualities allow one to easily understand that just like the hazelnut God cares about us, loves us, and will keep us from harm. The author also shows another example of God’s love in simple terms, saying that “He is our clothing that for love wraps and winds us, envelopes and embraces us, and all becloses us, hangs about us for tender love so that he may never leave us” (292). In these lines, Julian shows us once again how much God loves us, without needing to resort to vague terms and confusing ideas. Instead, the author shows us a pleasant and uncomplicated image of God, showing how “he is to us all thing that is good and comfortable” (292). Julian’s examples show us that even though God’s love seems incomprehensible, anyone can understand it when using simple…

At the center of a lot of different religions, there is love. Even though many of those religions have different definitions and meanings of love, it has always been a universal concept that is very easy to grasp. Winthrop gives great conclusions of love. “Love is a real thing, not imaginary.” This is obvious because like many natural characteristics, love is a part of our human nature. We love even without realizing it. He goes on to tell us that love is necessary in being apart of Christianity. Christianity is about loving others as Christ loves us. How can you be of the Christian religion and not love? Winthrop then goes on to tell us the characteristics of love; how it is divine, free, active, strong, courageous etc. He tells us that the scripture tells us that the love of the God of Christianity is ultimately satisfying.…

Some may argue that the greatest love story to date is Romeo and Juliet: the love; the passion; the unlikely pair. Although Romeo and Juliet may be a great tale of two unlikely lovers, it could never compare to Our Christian Story. However, throughout these two renowned stories, elements of love and sacrifice can be demonstrated frequently. Out of love, we are able to make sacrifices for those whom which we hold dear to our hearts; when humanity betrayed God by consuming fruit from the forbidden tree, He displayed an unconditional love by sending His only son, Jesus Christ, to absolve us from sin. This represents a vital bond of love that has, over time, remained between God and humanity, but to experience this bliss we must freely embrace…

Love is a refuge that without it nothing can exist. Without the love of God the world wouldn’t have life. Without the passion of two lovers no child would be brought in to the cycle of life. Since God is love, agape is seen as God’s divine love made visible in our good deeds and charitable service. It is a spiritual love that grows in our lives by the grace of God. Our love of God and each other requires a radical commitment, for God‘s holy image is precious beyond understanding. This is illustrated in the Bible when love is described as “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2)…

Love is the strongest feeling in the world, this feeling of extreme care and admiration is capable of making people look over all the bad and intolerable things of this world. Love is capable of making people do stuff without any control over their physical being. When one loves another, the feelings can become so strong that these two might feel like they are destined to be together forever and that nothing could ever break them apart. Love is a feeling that everyone feels inside at one point in their life, regardless of where they have come from or what has happened in their life. But of all the love in the world, none is greater than the love God has for the people of this Earth. After all, the bible states that “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son and that whosoever believeth in him shall not parish but have everlasting life”-John 3:16. In this being said, God loved the world so greatly that he believed that if he sent his son into the world to die for the people and the sins of this world, that his blood being shed might just save us all.…
