Goa is popularly known as the Pearl of the orient and tourist paradise. It is located in India’s western coastal belt called the Konkan coast.
Goa is famous for its heritage and its architecture. The architectural work done in Goan Temples, Churches and old houses has brought great laurels to Goa. Goa offers a unique feature to witness a pure blend of Portuguese and goan culture in architecture of villas, forts houses and churches. In goa, people are kind, helpful & friendly. The landscape of Goa is dotted with several forts such as- Fort Tiracol, Fort Aguada, and Chapora Fort etc. There are around 36 beaches having crystal clear water. Tourist visit Goa for loads of vitamin D which they have while having sun bath and relaxing from stress. Goan cuisine is renowned for its rich variety of fish dishes cooked with elaborate recipes. Coconut and coconut oil is widely used in Goan cooking along with spices giving the food a unique flavor. Sea foods like Mackerels, Tiger prawns, are the favorite foods of tourists.
Goa has many beaches for enjoying and beautiful places for sightseeing. Goa can be best viewed while travelling on the bike, bus or motorcycle. The Sandy beaches, coconut trees, waterfalls truly add flavor to the goan natural view. Lush green fields, majestic forests, long roads and cool breeze add up for the perfect natural view. There are many shops which attract the tourists mainly for the varieties of handicrafts. Goa has carnivals which come every year. The young are attracted towards Goa as it is a party destination. Many parties are organized during Christmas and new years. Mando and dulpod are traditional goan musical forms. Traditional Goan dance are of many forms like- dekhnni, fugdi, corridinho etc. Western social dancing is a part of most celebrations.
