Gloria Scene Analysis

(In this scene Victor receives information and Gloria’s file from Becky on Golden Hands. Gloria is then sent back to the Golden Hands Rest Facility for Young Prodigies. Gloria hates being in Golden Hands and its overly cheery staff. The scene then goes drastic when Gloria escapes. Scene Note- There is not a lot of monologue from Gloria.)
(The scene starts with an eerie car ride similar to the one in the prologue, as Victor takes Gloria to Golden Hands. During the car ride Victor has a flash back of receiving the Golden Hands information with monolog from Becky in the following):
BECKY: Vic, I am sorry about what happened last night. When you said you lost Maria and you were afraid of losing Glory too, I didn’t know what you meant. Now I know. …show more content…
VICTOR: Why would I do that? Of course not. I will come visit every chance I get.
GLORIA: Am I ever going to get better…?
VICTOR: They’re going to help you Glory. I know it. Here I got you something. (Hands a present). You can open it later, but just know, I’ll be fighting for you Glory. You’re my baby girl and I will always love you.
GLORIA: I love you too dad…
(Gloria wipes away tears and begins to walk away with the nurse.)
ALLISON: Do not worry Mr. Fleming. Your daughter is in the safest, most loving hands this side of the US. We treat all of our patients like family, and plan our steps to a happier future.)
(Scene goes to the Nurse showing Gloria to her room).
NURSE: Here you go Ms. Fleming, here is your room. It has the standard accommodations of all of patients here. If there’s something you do not like or something that you need just ring this bell here, and I’ll hurry to assist you.
(Gloria sits down to open the present to find it to be a blue boxing robe. Gloria looks at it lays down and cries herself to sleep. The scene then goes to Victor some days later eating lunch with Becky and John).
VICTOR: I can’t believe it’s been almost eight …show more content…

(Victor’s cell phone rings. Victor picks up and it is from Golden Hands.)
ALLISON: Hello is this Victor Fleming?
VICTOR: Yes this is Victor, is there something wrong with Gloria? I was told I couldn’t contact her for eight weeks is she ok?
ALLISON: Calm down Mr. Fleming, Gloria is doing just fine. She is eating regularly and sleeps through the night. In fact, she’s made a new friend, and the two of them enjoy sewing and watching TV together. However I would just like to check in with you that she insists on practicing far more than the two hours we recommend. After breakfast, Gloria will usually disappear into one of our practice rooms, and then not reemerge until dinnertime.
VICTOR: Well what is she playing? Didn’t you say your facility used music therapy?
ALLISON: Well see that’s the thing… A member of our staff has informed me that Glory only plays Chopsticks, and that she will play the song, in various, incarnations, for hours every day. I realize that Glory’s stay here has been much longer than usual, but I recommend that she remain with us through the holidays.
VICTOR: What that is crazy! Can’t I at least come see
