Global Warming, a False Ideology
Global Warming (A False Ideology)
Global warming is defined by Google as “A gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, CFCs, and other pollutants”. The “greenhouse effect” is essential to life on Earth. If there were no greenhouse gases, the temperature of the air would be about 32°F or 18°C colder than it is now. The earth would pretty much be a frozen wasteland. We need greenhouse gases.
My argument against global warming mainly emphasizes on the disproving of man-made global warming, not global warming as by direct definition as quoted above. I believe in the validity of the Green House effect, but am willing to denounce the allegations that human-kinds man-made greenhouse gases have or will ever influence climate change or overall atmospheric stability. We as a society rely on an assortment of technologies to engage us in every day luxuries that those of lesser fortune have not the ability. These luxuries influence the world in many ways but are incapable of changing the climate of our world with minute greenhouse gas emissions small in proportion to that of natures.
Man-made Global warming is a false unproven ideology based on no scientific evidence, and is supposedly caused by natural gases (like carbon dioxide and methane) that are produced, and have been produced, by many organisms and even geological features many years before human kind even started using fossil fuels. In fact over 97% of all greenhouse gases are produced naturally. Case in point; India's population of over one billion people produces more carbon dioxide just by breathing than is produced by all the coal-burning power plants in the United States. According to the USGS (The United States Geological Survey) the world’s volcanoes generate about two hundred million tons of carbon dioxide annually.     Interestingly, there is a very continuous debate as to how significant human, or economic intervention is to affecting Global warming, and how much of it can be put down to natural causes. Nonetheless, there are clear pieces of evidence provided that suggests global warming is down to anthropogenic causes, and that of economic activity. Firstly, the mass amount of deforestation that takes place across the world today can have drastic effects on global temperatures. For example, vegetation works in harmony with human life as they help to keep the balance of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by absorbing it, with the growing number of trees being cut down, and an ever increasing population, the balance is being lost. As a result of this, there is a noticeable increase in CO2 within the earth’s atmosphere. The Amazon for instance; absorbs approximately 35% of the worlds annual carbon dioxide emissions and produces over 20% of the worlds oxygen. In addition to this, the Amazon is home to more than half the world’s estimated 10 million species of plants, animals and insects that’s are rapidly losing their habitats. Mass deforestation can cause huge climatic problems in the future, for example, it has been estimated that there will be an increase in temperature of around 2-3 degrees Celsius by 2050 if deforestation continues to occur at its current rate. Let’ s start by talking about the definition; according to Sir David King and Gabrielle Walker’ s, 2008, book titled “The Hot Topic “ global warming is defined as a gradual increase in the earth’s surface temperature. A more popular usage definition would be global warming is caused by human activity, or let’s look at a more technical term anthropogenic. The debate would be is global warming observed naturally or is it man made? Some might actually take on a debate about the natural causes, like is the sun getting hotter; or maybe the debate would lean more towards human causes, carbon dioxide , here is a good example: the exhaust from cars and power plants that pollute our air. Which side of the debate would you take? One in respect to thinking that global warming is a serious problem, then again maybe global warming has only clouded the issue or in simple terms; how the climate system really works and why man’s role in global warming is more myth than science, and how the global warming hype has corrupted Washington and the scientific community.…
