Global Warming Is Not Anthropogenic
Global Warming is the increase of Earth’s average temperature over the past one hundred years, Earth’s surface temperatures have risen one degree Fahrenheit in the last century. Global Warming is a problem because it is causing ice caps to melt and sea levels to rise. Burning fossil fuels is also releasing more greenhouses gases making temperature rise even more. Temperatures have risen globally because of an upsurge of greenhouse gases and also the Earth’s natural changes. Scientist says that global warming is caused naturally and not caused by human activities. Do you like the idea of ice caps melting? The fact that the ice is melting means there is nothing to reflect the sunlight hitting the ice. The melting ice, which stores methane from decaying dead organisms will be released into the atmosphere. Methane is a greenhouse gas, which then will lock in more warm air, making our surface temperature rise even more. Global Warming is not anthropogenic because of the following two scientific reasons, first, the evidence of the Medieval Warming period, second, the inaccurate and unreliable computer models. However those that agree that Global Warming is anthropogenic would say that human activities have released carbon emissions into the atmosphere, causing the Earth’s surface to warm up. The first scientific evidence for my position is the temperature graph for the last 1,800 where there was a period of a warming that was hotter than today called the Medieval Warming period. The second scientific evidence for my position is how scientist doesn’t use the hockey stick graph anymore and how inaccurate and unreliable computer models are in predicting future climates.
More specifically, scientist say to look at the “Hockey Stick” graph (figure 1) to see how accurate it is. Figure 1.
