The location of sovereignty in the UK in recent years has reduce from one single power and devolved into many unions, treaties and nations within the UK and abroad. Power has been devolved from a single sovereignty parliament in the UK to a-multi sovereignty in the UK and its nations. Scotland has played a bigger part in receiving sovereignty, for example, the electoral system devised for Scotland was to ensure that extremist (Scottish Nationalist Party) could never come to power, but they have, by working within its own sovereign parliament and not a central office, Westminster was pushed into allowing SNP to run Scotland as a country; if Westminster didn’t comply the Union of the United Kingdom, it could possible to break, This would show a weakness in UKs sovereignty.…

The sky is falling, the sky is falling! Growing up I heard this phrase in folktales as a “wolf cry”-- a cry that is so ridiculous that nobody would believe it. Now that global warming is a major environmental issue, the saying doesn’t sound so out of place. Most people might say: what is global warming? That’s the question that was running through my mind when I first heard we were watching a documentary on it in my English 130 class. The film is Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth and it is about the causes of global warming and what it is doing to our planet. Being an environmentally involved citizen and growing up with conservative Republicans as parents, I was torn between not really liking Gore and this extreme reality that I felt was an impending doom on Mother Earth. The day before my writing class my dad called me and I brought up the fact that I was watching Gore’s film; his reaction was, “I’m paying for you to do that?” I tried to tell him it wasn’t about Gore and when I brought up global warming he claimed it was a scheme to get money and that our wor...…

In the last century, the sea level has rose for about 17 centimetres. The rate in the last decade is however, nearly the double of last century. Major global surface reconstructions also showed that the Earth has warmed since 1880 and it’s still going on. Oceans are also warming up, due to the heat. Not only that, the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets are melting, glaciers are disappearing and extreme weather events have occurred more often. All these phenomena are the evidence of the fact that the Earth is warming up, they are the cause of global warming. Many scientists and researchers are trying to find a way to reduce the heat that the Earth absorbs. But in order to do that, they need to answer one question: What is the main cause of global warming. Is it we, humans, or is it the sun that causes it? Many debates are being held about this topic. Not only that, even documentaries were made about it, like The Great Global Warming Swindle and The inconvenient truth. But still, no one knows whether we, humans, causes global warming or the sun.…

To change something is to transform or convert it from what it is or what it would be if left alone. Global Warming is changing the earth. It is increasing temperature and affecting many plant and animal habitats. Those are only two of the many affects that Global Warming has on the planet. It is caused by many factors such as Greenhouse gases, thermal pollution and many more. If Global Warming continues at the rate it is presently going, our planet and everything on it will suffer significantly. Global Warming is stimulated by many causes that will put the earth at risk of serious consequences if not controlled.…

Gases such as carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide are sometimes called Greenhouse gases, are increasing into our atmosphere causing climate changes. Scientists call this climate change – Global Warming. Sea levels are rising, glaciers are melting, and storms are raging fiercer than ever before such as Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and Hurricane Sandy in 2012. As the Earth spins each day, the new heat swirls with it, picking up moisture over the oceans, rising here, settling there. (http://www.nmsea.org) Is the climate caused by things that humans are doing or releasing into the air, or is it simply part of Mother Nature and just a hoax? Regardless, even if we disagree about the causes, global warming effects are real, or are they?…

The past few decades, the world has been astonished by the amount of CO2 humans are emitting into the atmosphere and say if we do not stop, there will be dire consequences. But what they do not understand is that global warming will be the most benevolent thing human beings will ever grant the earth. Global warming will bring a copious amount of positives, which include saving money, eradicating animals that threaten the human species and saving the world from hunger.…

Throughout the years, many topics have been brought to attention and have caused many controversial discussions. Being one of them, Global Warming has been the number one controversial topic for decades. One main subtopic talked about has been the different types of “effects” Global Warming has caused on this Earth to go through. One effect is Greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases can stay in the atmosphere for an amount of years ranging from decades to hundreds and thousands of years. No matter what we do, global warming is going to have some effect on Earth. Another effect is diseases. As northern countries warm, disease carrying insects migrate north, bringing plague and disease with them. Indeed some scientists believe that in some countries, thanks to global warming, malaria has not been fully eradicated. Another effect is warm water and hurricanes. As the temperature of oceans rises, so will the probability of more frequent and stronger hurricanes. We saw in this in 2004 and 2005. Another effect is Economic consequences. Most of the effects of anthropogenic global warming won’t be good. These effects spell one thing for the countries of the world: economic consequences. Hurricanes cause billions of dollars in damage, diseases cost money to treat and control and conflicts exacerbate all of these. These here are just examples of what Global Warming has caused. With all these being said, Global Warming will continue to affect the Earth until major things are changed.…

Global warming is a pretty known topic across the globe today. Many people have different theories on why they think the temperature of the earth is changing and some have little interest at all. For me it is a very interesting topic and I find myself wanting to do something about it. I believe that the effects of global warming are definitely human created, whether it be greenhouse gasses, carbon gas emission or the mass clearing of trees, I know there is something we can do to make a change. The effects of global warming are so sad and everyone should want to make a difference in the world and try to do whatever they can to help bring balance back to this globe before it’s too late. There are tons of little daily changes that we can make to help out, for example, keeping your tires properly inflated. When your tires are properly inflated helps your gas mileage by at least three percent, which not only saves you money but also keeps twenty pounds of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere for every gallon you save. Another simple change would be using less heat and air conditioning. Setting your thermostat just two degrees higher during summer and 2 degrees lower during winter could save about two thousand pounds of carbon dioxide a year. Everyone just needs to become more educated on the topic and hopefully there will be a worldwide change that takes place and helps reduce global warming for good.…
