Where would the United States of America be without George Washington? This question shows the impact that one amazing leader can have not just to those they lead, but to society as a whole. Without George Washington, the colonial militia would not have had a leader. The First or Second Continental Congress would not have had their President. The first president of the United States of America would be someone else. The effect of one person on history can completely change the history of one nation, but also the world. The world will be different because of a good leader. An example of this is President John F Kennedy. He helped make the United States of America a better place by passing the Civil Rights Act of 1965. He also made a difference by motivating the crew of Apollo 11 to be the first people to reach the moon. George Washington made an impact on history by leading the American militia against the British forces. Without his leadership, The United States of America may not even have been a country, never mind a world leader. Martin Luther King Jr. is an influential leader. The peaceful way Martin Luther King Jr. and his followers protested against racial injustice made their cause more sympathetic to the American public. Martin Luther King Jr’s now famous speech made on the United States Capitol in Washington, DC; is one of the most iconic speeches of recent history. The address appeals to the citizens of America mainly by using the core idea and need for community and dream for everyone to be treated as equals.
