Genesis 1-11 Research Paper
Genesis 1-11: History or Not? For many years people have debated whether Genesis is part of history or it is just stories people made up to explain God. The main stories of Genesis are creation, fall of humanity into sin, the flood, and the Tower of Babel. I believe that these stories are not just interpretations, but are real events.
The first major event in Genesis is creation. I believe this is history. I do believe that the world was created in seven days. To humans it would seem impossible for a mountain to form in a day, but for God it is easy. He can create a mountain is just a few seconds if He wanted to. As for time itself, heaven is different. The Bible says that it could be a thousand years to God and just a day to us. For the Garden of Eden, I believe it was created at the same time as the rest of the world. The story of the Garden of Eden was just going deeper into what was specifically happening in the garden.
The next major event is the fall of humanity into sin. I believe in this story. The reason I believe in this story is because …show more content…
It never says in the bible that he never directly ordered the tower to be built, but it was made for him. It is said it was built to confuse their languages. I believe this is true as well. Archeologists actually found remains of the tower itself. Another reason I believe it is true is because at my church we have a different interpretation of the story. I believe that God used this situation to get the people to spread to the rest of the world since people were being stubborn and staying in one area.
In the end, I believe that Genesis is true. If you say that one part of the Bible is false, it is like calling the whole Bible false. Even books in the New Testament refer back to Genesis. If Genesis was not true, why would they refer to it as fact? The four main stories of Genesis are just a few examples of why I believe the bible is

    When comparing genesis one to genesis two, you will ascertain how dissimilar they are. To start off, in Genesis one it is stated that there was already water on earth and that God had made the land by gathering water into basins, which he called seas, in comparison with genesis two in which there was only land on earth and that God sends rain down to earth which made streams.
