“Why is there gender disparity at the highest levels of companies ? What evidence is there that this is bad for business? What can companies do to increase gender parity?”

In every country, organisations are trying to attract high skilled workers for the future .To develop and retain the best talent, is the most important aspect of every company. Gender disparity still exists in companies. Especially women as they are the ones who are not treated equally. According to Professor Susan Vinn (2012) in the report of” female FTSE100 report“ states that women make up more than half of the world population and control well over half the spending .Therefore, Educating women and developing their talent and leadership skill is the vital for all country. Mostly developing country where there is shortage of talent so, maximizing female talent for business is most important job.
According to World Economic Forum In developed countries, there are more opportunities for education so women are educated as men whereas in Middle east , north Africa and south Asia women are not educated as men so gender disparity in employment appear to have an increasing effect on economic growth differences between regions. IT starts with education in primary or secondary school. According to united nation over 55 % of girls in countries like as India, Yemen, Benin and Iraq countries, are not getting any education, so don’t get opportunity work in high level of organisation. In developed countries, vast majority of organizations are striving to unlock the potential of women in the workforce. In those countries, women who have high ambition have to settle for less demanding jobs due to child care and household work and very few women reach the executive committee. Stuhlmacher and walters(1999) argues that gender differential were found mostly in higher department. The research done by walter (1999)argues that the main reason why women are not in higher level is that women lack confidence

But that is as far as equality extends, as less than 5 percent of chief executives of publicly listed companies in OECD countries are women and just 2.8 percent in the European Union.” Even though many women have accomplished great success within their career. There are many plausible explanation for the lack of gender diversity in higher level positions.Overall, most of the explanations correlates with our society having a gender preference.Which results in men not only being the “breadwinners” for the household ,but the dominant figures in the workforce.     Feminist or gender inequality had been a social issue for several years now. It is an issue where the society believes that women are best suited for family or non-career employment path. However, as modernization takes place, there were series of studies conducted which shows how this social issue is now being accepted by the society which also shows changes in the society’s behavior.
