Price is one of the main factors because we want the best quality but for a low price, this will determine Rowena and Derek choice when it come to buying a car. Price is a powerful factor when you are buying a product, as numerous consumers want the best thing for a low price. Derek would have a larger range of cars then Rowena because Derek’s income is $80,000 so he could buy any car he would want. On the other hand Rowena’s income is $12000 so she only has a smaller ranger. Rowena would have to purchase a second hand car because she doesn’t have enough money to buy a car of her choice. For Rowena it would be a hassle because she would have to run around to different car deals to find a cheap car but have good quality. While Derek on the other hand can spend as much money as he wants on a car because he has more money then Rowena and he doesn’t have to run around to car deals.
Age is a serious factor to consider when buying a car. The way this will impact the choice of Rowena and Derek is the car dealer will try to overrule one of them. To tell you now it is not Derek because Derek would know a bit more about cars because he is interested in cars. Also Derek is 18 years older than Rowena so he would have more experience with cars and purchasing a car. Rowena is young than Derek so she lacks experience in purchasing a car, and the car dealers would try to take advantage of her because they would know that she is young and the car dealers would think that she knows less things about cars and how to buy a car. So the person that would have a better deal at getting a car would be Derek because he knows more about car and his age would tell the car dealers that he might have experience with buying a car, while Rowena has no clue about cars and her ages would tell the car dealers that she has no experience buying a car.
In the future there will be times when the price of a product is more than the amount of cash you have available in this case of buying a car Derek and Rowena would have some trouble with his and her finance . Finance is a necessary factor to think about when purchasing a product, because normally when the product is high-priced it will effect the end result of purchasing a product. For Derek finance is more important to him than Rowena because, Derek would have a house that has a mortgage and so he would be trying to pay off his house mortgage so that would mean he has less money to spend on a car but would still have a larger range than Rowena. The reason Rowena would still have less range of cars since she has a low income compared to Derek. Rowena would also have limited cars because people that are Rowena’s age are more independent and they support them self, Rowena might have a apartment that she is renting and most of her money would go to her apartment, pay her university fees and she would use some money on things she needs, so Rowena would have a smaller amount of money to buy her self a car.
As a consumer like Derek and Rowena we are interminably defenseless to all features of marketing. Marketing plays an exceptionably role in influencing Derek and Rowena decisions. Every now and then there are new products that are released onto the market and advertised. What marketing does is it influence us to think we in to purchase a product that we do not need. Marketing would not really effect Rowena that much because Rowena knows what she want. On the other hand Derek might be influence by the the marking because Derek has kids and he would want a product that is the best for them. So if Rowena was to see a car advertisement that is for the price of $36000 then she would ignore the advertisement but if Derek see a advertisement for $36000 then we would look at the advertisement. If Rowena see a Advertisement for a car at the price of $8000 then she would be interested in the advertisement but if Derek see that advertisement then he would reject it by not looking at it. In other words Derek would be easier to convinced to buy a car compared to Rowena because they both have different situation.
Service is one of the main factors to attract customer. When you get Poor service can have the opposite effect. And when you get Good pre-sales and after-sales service makes you feel you are a valued customer and, consequently you will keep buying that product or going back to a particular store. When Derek goes to buy a car he would want fast and good service because he has kids that he has to take care of and he would know that his kids would get bored at look at cars and then they would start to whine. Also Derek would want good service if he is spending a lot of money on a car but you could say Derek wouldn’t mind if he got bad service because he just want to buy a car. While Rowena would want the same thing as Derek because she has a job to go to and she has to study for university. Therefore Derek would not mind if he get good or bad service he just want them to be fast and Rowena would appreciate if she got good service.
Many consumers are aware of environmental pollution, many consumers are becoming more aware of the problems caused by throwaway packaging. You therefore may be influenced to purchase a product that has minimal packaging or packaging that can be recycled. Environmental would slight matter to Derek and Rowena because they are buying a car and the a car makes the most pollution. Derek would buy a car that is environmental friendly because he has kids and he would want the best for his kid and he would look at his health and his kids. Rowena would try to find a car that is cheap and environmental friendly but it is most likely she is to buy a car that is not so she would not real care if it is environmental friendly. Also if Rowena gets a car that is environmental friendly then she would have to pay more money for petrol and she can not afford it, while Derek has more money than Rowena and can spend it on petrol.
Gender is a major factor when it comes to buying a car. Males and females have a number of common wants, such as entertainment, music and a car. However, a person's gender influences some types of purchase. For example, female consumers spend more on cosmetics than males. When Derek goes to purchase a car he won’t be bombarded by car dealers because he is male and they would think that he knows a lot about cars. When Rowena goes to purchase a car she would be bombarded by car dealers just because she is a female and the car dealers would think that she knows nothing about cars. The car dealers would try to trick Rowena into buying more things for her car or get to purchase another car. So when it comes to purchase a car Derek would be left alone and Rowena would be bombarded.
Convenience has many meanings for consumers, such as traveling time to a retail outlet, the number of stores located within one shopping complex or suitable shopping hours. Did you know when customer are in a rush they want to be hassle free and convenient. Convenience is Derek and Rowena final decisions on buying a car. Derek and Rowena are both busy with their life to try to make time to buy themselves a car. Derek is less busy than Rowena so he would have time to shop around to find a car he wants that is cheap but it wouldn’t be convenient for derek to shop with his kids cause he would have to rush to buy a car. While Rowena would have less time to ran around to find a cheap car but it wouldn’t be convenient for her to just go to one car dealer and buy a car because she would want a car that is cheap. In other words it would be convenient for Derek and Rowena to buy a car from a car dealer that is close to them.
After considering the factor above Derek and Rowena would have to consider the 8 factor before purchasing a car. The eight factor are Price, Age, Finance, Marketing, Service, Environmental, Gender and convenience. Derek and Rowena would have a lot of thinking to do before they buy car. Especially Rowena because she is still young and she sort of has no time to do her research on buying a car. While Derek has a good chance of buying a car before Rowena because he has more time to look at the eight factors and he is not that busy compared to Rowena. Overall before we go to purchase a Car or another product we should think about the eight factors.

The location I chose to observe behavior in a public setting was the food court at the Everett mall on Saturday April 26th from 1:00-1:20pm. The food court is packed with people bustling in and out amidst their shopping. It seems a universal for many to be looking at their phones. While I did make short observations about the mass group of people I decided to narrow in and focus on a few groups of people. The first couple of individuals I observed were a female and male. The female had her hair up in a clip and wore a red summer dress with long dangly crystal earrings and high healed sandals. She had a heavy amount of makeup on and had painted red nails a similar shade to that of her dress. The male had a short haircut and wore a blue t-shirt with ripped jeans, brown boots and a large watch on his left hand. The male maintained a ridged posture while the female would tend to slouch and would bend her knees periodically. Consistently positioning herself in a way that made her shorter than the male she was speaking to. The next group of people I observed was 4 females eating various foods. They each had their hair in a tight pony tail and were wearing athletic clothing (shorts, tennis shoes, and t-shirts with their last names on the back). They were deeply involved in conversation leaning closely in towards one another. The next group of I observed were four males and two females. The males wore either brown knee length shorts or jeans. Each of them had various short haircuts with the exception of one who had his hair in a tight ponytail. One of the females had shorts and a tank top on with French tip acrylic nails while the other had jeans and a deep V-neck cut shirt.
