Gay Marriage Rights
Gay Marriage Rights!

The definition of gay marriage or same sex marriage is when two people of the same gender want to spend the rest of their lives together and want to make it official by getting married.
A lot of people seem to disagree with this topic, and think it is utterly disgraceful, but in my opinion, those are the people who are the major disgrace in our society.
Just think, if you really loved a person and wanted to spend the rest of your life with them but the law wouldn’t allow you to do so, how would you react? It isn’t their fault that they are attracted to a member of the same sex, people can’t just choose who they fall in love with and who they have feelings for, they were born that way, and if people can’t accept them for that maybe they need to open their eyes and think about it from another point of view other than their own. They should at least try and understand, it’s not as if they have to be gay in the process, they just have to accept the fact that there are gays and lesbians out there and they share the exact same feelings and emotions as straight people do, they shouldn’t be treated any differently. They still live like other humans, but they are often treated as if they are another type of species.
Oh, it was “Adam and Eve” not “Adam and Steve” well, not everyone is religious and that is just a very sad imaginative excuse to not accept people for who they are.
Straight people don’t even have to believe in god or go to church to get married anymore, so why would religion suddenly be such a big issue? Marriage is a civil right not a heterosexual privilege.
Everyone should be treated as an equal, but it doesn’t look like when straight people ever wanted to start marrying they had to have ‘straight marriage rallies’ or ‘straight people parades’ around their hometowns to try and make it heard by the government, it was just the ‘normal’ thing to do.
For another example, it’s exactly the same as being racist; saying that a black

If someone were to ask me if I thought Homosexuals should be allowed to marry, I would say definitely. Allowing same sex marriage will give gay couples access to rights such as inheritance, health coverage, and adoption. Same sex couples should be allowed to have access to marriage benefits just like any other couple. It is not fair for society to shun gays. I feel that we should all be accepting to their lifestyles. Homosexuality is not any different than a normal couple. Love has no boundaries and is controlled by what ones feels inside their hearts.…

My personal views on this issue changed a few years ago when watching the TV broadcast and something came up about the right for gays to marry. Previously I was personally indifferent but felt that marriage was as much a religious institution as a civil institution. After all, most marriages are performed by clergy and the majority are in religious settings. I felt that civil union met the needs of gays so why offend the religions? Then I saw an older woman interviewed and she had explained that she and her partner had been waiting 30 or 40 year for this day. They have lived together as a family and wanted to be married. That's about as successful as a married couple can be, still wanting to be married after all that time! And I thought, all Americans are entitled to their own pursuit of happiness. Gays who buy into a system of family values should have the same family rights as others. I also used to get grossed out when I hear same sex marriage, but then I look at Ellen DeGeneres, for example, she is the sweetest the person that could be. Opinions about same sex marriage crossed out so many times and places as well as thru out the years. Many say that time is changing and over the years people slowly will accept the gay marriage.…

Will Rogers once said, “We will never have true civilization until we have learned to recognize the rights of others”. But, many will argue that this should not apply to all liberties of the American people; in fact they will differ with anyone who threatens their idea of right and immoral. For most, this argument begins with Gay Marriage.…

We live in society where just about everything is not much of a shocker, yet, we can’t grasp the idea that gays do exist, whether you were born that way or developed into it; whichever the case may be it is all around us. Any religion, as stated by Sullivan, has the right to be against marriage, but what about everything else that religion is all about? I, personally, being a Catholic believe that we are hypocrites. We are taught that God loves what we are, or us no matter how and he forgives us for our sins, and that we should never judge. Gay marriage has never been about getting married in the house of God. It has been about having a legal bond to one another, like any other couple, can devote themselves to one person. Some may say, “Why do you need a piece of paper to prove it?” I say “Why not?”…

Gay couples are just like any other couple, with the difference of their sexual preferences. All couples should have the same rights, not just because they have different sexual preferences from all the other people they should be treated differently. Homosexuals as well as heterosexuals are fully functioning members of society, and should be treated equally. Just like heterosexuals, homosexuals also pay taxes, go to school, go to work, and obey laws.…

Marriage has always been an intimate and private subject. By letting the same gender marry one another, we’re allowing two people who share love join together. Forget the gender part, people marry for money and social status every day. Is that any more ethical? When a man and woman make the decision to share a last name, no one really cares other than their family & friends. Its the same with two homosexuals wishing to join in marriage. Its not as if their marriage would tear other families apart across the nation. No harms being done. Some say it goes against their religion, but tattoos, cutting your hair, showing skin other than on your face and not maintaining abstinence before being wed can also be just as disrespectful toward a religion. People take those actions each and every day and you don’t see protesters on street corners for a…

Illegal, unconstitutional, disgusting and sinful are only a few words people use to describe what I consider a personal right. Gay marriage has been a topic of discussion in the United States for the past couple years. Lately the subject has increased along with the arguments from both sides of the spectrum. I am a gay male and look forward to finding the man of my dreams and marrying him some day but this can only happen if the minds of certain individuals change along with the laws prohibiting it. Gay marriage should be legal throughout the country; it does not hurt anyone and can be beneficial for many.…

Most people believe that they deserve the rights they are granted by the government; an upstanding citizen who pays their taxes, serves their community and abides by the law should be afforded the rights of an American. However, not all citizens are afforded equal rights. Specifically, gay and lesbians couples are denied the right to marry even if they are upstanding citizens. Gays are people who are sexually attracted to someone who is the same sex; homosexuals and same- sex marriage is when two people of the same sex who live together as a family. They are held at an unfair disadvantage solely because of their sexual orientation;one's natural preference in sexual partners. Being denied the right to marry affects all gay and lesbian couples of all ages but it mostly affects older adults because they are the one that are getting older, want to be married and want rights with their partner. This discrimination must stop because gay and lesbian couples are law-abiding citizens too, who should be afforded the same rights as heterosexual couples. Denying same- sex marriage is a huge geographical appeal because it is affecting almost all gay and lesbian couples in the United States, but it is not just geographical it also affects me personally because I have a cousin who is gay and I see what older people are going thru wanting to get married because they have been together for a long but being denied that right; and it does hurt when you have to see what someone who is really close to you is going to have to go thru because of his sexual orientation. Same-sex marriage should be legalized because gays and lesbians want to get married for marital benefits, not religious reasons, it is unconstitutional not to allow gay couples to marry, and because legalizing it will dramatically help improve the economy by an astonishing amount.…
