Water is more beneficial than any sports drink, it helps with our heart and being that we lose 2% to 6% of body weight just exercising says a lot about how much we must have water. An athlete plays a game for about 2 hours within those two hours we sweat so much and all that water is leaving our body, that's water we must gain back to keep a healthy body. Becoming dehydrated is a major problem for an athlete, source A states, “The human body uses water to regulate body temperature, transport oxygen and nutrients and dispose of waste. The majority of blood--and thus the majority of the human body--is comprised of water. If the body becomes dehydrated, the exerciser can feel cramps, fatigue and dizziness, or experience even more serious problems such as heat stroke and heat exhaustion.”
