Gas Chambers In The Holocaust Essay
Many lives suffered during the holocaust , from different chances of dying in the concentration camps. From Gas chambers, execution, and starvation. The main easier way to kill wew gas chambers, gas chambers were invented in February 8 1924, According to (http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/16700249)BBC; “How did people die in the holocaust”, in the United states and were used for death rows. Gas chambers in the holocaust were originally used in 1941 in extermination camps in order to kill quicker and collect bodies easier.
On January 30 1933, millions of people didn’t know their lives were going to change when they chose Adolf Hitler as Chancellor of Germany. Hitler Had a better “vision” for a good German, he thought white skin tone, blue eyes, blonde hair people were “the perfect German” , If you didn’t fit into that description you were eliminated Hitler had many ways to torture and kill people but one main thing he used were gas chambers in the concentration camps. Hit Gas chambers were used in the Holocaust to kill many people. 1.1 million people were killed which is 90% of Jews were killed during the process of the gas chambers.     Killing centers were established by the Nazis. These killing centers were simply just "death factories." Almost 2,700,000 Jews were murdered in these centers, either by asphyxiation with posionous gas, or by shooting. The first of these camps was Chelmno. Not only Jews, but some Gypsies, were also gassed here in mobile gas vans. Belzec, Dobibor and Treblinka were all opened in 1942 in Generalgouvenement (territory in the interior of occupied Poland.) These camps were refered to as the "Operation Reinhard camps." In these camps the German SS (major paramilitary organization under Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party) killed exactly 1,526,500 Jews between March of 1942 and November of 1943. All of the people that arrived at these camps were sent to the death in the gas chambers as soon as they arrived (excluding a small amount that were chosen for a special work team called the Sonderkommandos.)The largest of these centers was Auschwitz-Birkenau. By spring of 1943 this camp had four operating gas chambers, in which they murdered up to 6,000 Jewes a day.…

We had arrived in Birkenau. The beloved objects that we had carried with us from place to place were now left behind in the wagon and, with them, finally, our illusions. Every few yards, there stood an SS man, his machine gun trained on us. Hand in hand we followed the throng” (Wiesel 28-29). In addition, Elie has arrived in Auschwitz-Birkenau with his family and sees all of the SS guards. As was previously stated, Auschwitz II consisted of different sections. “The camp included sections for women; men; a family camp for Roma (Gypsies) deported from Germany, Austria, and the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia; and a family camp for Jewish families deported from the Theresienstadt ghetto” (“The Auschwitz concentration camp complex”). Those sections held the most prisoners out of the three camps (“The Auschwitz concentration camp complex”).     The Nazis killed most of them in gas chambers while pumping poisonous gas for the purpose of mass murder. Many of the tortured people were starved and shot or worked to death.
