Welcome to the world of Jenks Public Schools (JPS), a world where high achievement, an outstanding athletics program, and multitudinous opportunities for involvement in extracurricular activities abound! It is a world in which high test scores and national awards are the norm rather than the exception, and yet never taken for granted. An important goal of Jenks Public Schools is to identify and provide appropriate educational experiences for those students who give evidence of high performance capability in the area of intelligence or in high school academics and who require differentiated learning opportunities or experiences, provided by the school, that develop such capabilities. There are thirty-five private/nonprofit schools in the Tulsa area. There are three private schools within the JPS attendance area. Over the past three years there has been an average of 177 open transfer requests from families in other school districts to enroll in JPS. Conversely, during the past two years there has been an average of 30 open transfer requests from JPS families to enroll in other districts. This is a testimony to the high expectations for teaching and learning in the District. Because of the desire on the part of parents to enroll their students in JPS, homes sell for premium prices within the District’s boundaries. Base on housing starts and the average cost of homes. The net gain of the total district enrollment has increased by 823 students over the past 10 years, from 8448 students in 1994 to 9271 students in 2004. Jenks Public Schools is a leader in the implementation of technology tools and the integration of technology in the curriculum. Specific standards and objectives communicate the expectations…

In his speech to the people of the United States of America, president Kennedy uses repetition and offers solutions with a very imperative tone to convey his opinion that steel companies are causing harm by making their prices higher. He continues to argue that in a rising industry, they are the cause of jobs being lost, and that because of them, the country will be further in debt.…

The Seattle school case and Gratz v. Bollinger were in fact colorblind. The Seattle school system didn’t want to become un-proportional in terms of race. Any school that became out of line with that would start to evaluate the race of students, trying to keep as close to 60-40 as possible. The court begins to question the fact the only thing being considered is the race of the students when putting them into particular schools. They believed it is not just about color, but about where the kids have grown up, what religion the child might identify with, their value system and so on and so forth. Although the school system wants to become more diverse the court also said there had to be a preexisting problem of racial bias along with a history…

Damien Memorial High School Is filled with a lot of different ethnicities and different backgrounds. Damien to everyone may seem like it’s a bad school or we suck at sports and just another small school, but we’ve got heart and strong support for our school. What makes us different is the brotherhood we have here is too strong for anyone to break, and you can try but you will fail because we got everyone’s back at our school and no one can break our bond.…

Anticipate these needs by speaking with parents directly. Action research indicates that if needs are anticipated through direct parent contact, instruments such as surveys, interviews, orientation, meetings and phone calls can all be used to conduct an effective needs assessment (School). In addition, plan “programs and activities early in the school year for parents and school staff to get acquainted in social situations, such as back-to-school barbeques…or other events where participants can step out of their roles as parents or teachers” (Wherry, 2009). Formal and informal communication strategies fundamentally enable Title I Parent Involvement Plans. By proactively seeking input from parents, schools are better able to understand and respond to the needs of their community. According to the Michigan Department of Education, a major factor of parental involvement in the education of their children is the parents’ perception that their school wants them to be involved”…
