Freedom In Mrs. Mallard's Story Of An Hour
Freedom is when you're free from something that is oppressing you! In the ’story of an hour’ Mrs. Mallard had an oppressive husband. The bad thing was that time period it was okay for a man to treat their wives wrong.
When her husband had died she, “bespoke repression even a certain strength.” she felt that way because when you are free from something, you have a sense of strength. For example if your parents go on vacation, and leave you at home; then you are free and have power over the house. If you lived in that time and you were a grown person and someone had control over, you wouldn't like it!
Mrs. Mallard was sitting there after she found out her husband died and “a little whispered word escaped her…. Lips.” She whispered over and over, “free, free, free!” That in itself was a sense of relief from oppression! With her husband oppressing her, she also had a bad heart disease. Oppression does have a big play, such as: slavery to being free --- but still had no rights; African Americans being oppressed to not doing what every american had the right to do; and the middle class being punished because corrupt politicians want to charge us crazy taxes. Only way to fix oppression is to stand up what is right!
So, I chose ‘freedom’ because, people are still not free. To an extent, women still aren't free; because they get paid less than men. To be free then everyone and everything must be equal. As a country and an earth we must be equal and we are not. We have a long way but there is room for change; Look at the past how women and slaves got rights because people stood up for whats
