freedom
For centuries the word “freedom” has been a topic od debate, and for good reason. These days, people take for granted what our ancestors worked so hard to provide for us. They had great perseverance along with a single goal in mind. Their goal was to bring America freedom at last. Freedom can mean so many different things to many different people. According to the American Heritage College Dictionary, the word freedom means “The condition of being free of constraints”. To my family and I, the word “freedom” is being able to achieve anything you want to. It is being able to change your environment to how you want it to be. Freedom is a sense of hope, commitment and pride. When I read in school about how America came to be a free land, I always feel proud and amazed at how the many leaders, soldiers, and families from the past brought freedom to us, and I also feel hope for America’s future that it will keep its freedom and remain the land of the free for generations and generations to come. The freedom that we have today, also reminds me of the places where freedom does not exist yet. There are many countries where the people hear about our freedom, but yet, they cannot experience it for themselves. We can only hope for those people right now, and dream of a world that’s free. I believe that everyone should be able to live in a free nation. From free speech and free religion to free press and voting rights, freedom to me always shows the opportunity for American’s to improve, and that’s what freedom really

Freedom is not something that anybody can be given; Freedom is something that people take and people are as free as they want to be. Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, states, "Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one." Basically, Franklin is saying that in any circumstances mankind should not forget about the most important thing in the world - freedom. Freedom is when people have the opportunity to pursue happiness without any barriers. Freedom "gives" happiness because the state of being free is aligned with our true nature. The more you are aligned with your true nature, the more you are well. To simplify this, I would say if we have freedom - we have happiness; if we lose freedom we lose happiness as well. I believe people are only able to value it, as far as they can acknowledge how much it's important to them. I really love and appreciate the opportunity to be happy, that’s why I totally agree with Benjamin…

The idea that America was founded off freedom was rooted in the man-given rights announced in the Declaration of Independence- that man was obliged to “unalienable rights” such as “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”(source C). Freedom is the ability for an individual to express his right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness under his individuality. However, in order for a society to be free, freedoms must be granted under certain circumstances. Our freedom in society must be limited to maintain a free and just society for all and to secure the well-being and safety of every individual.…
