Fourth Of July Research Paper
Every year for Fourth of July, my mom’s side of the family gets together and celebrate. Each year my family come from all over the country to celebrate as a family. Some of them come from Columbia, Georgia, New York, Bermuda and even Baltimore. We all get together the day before Fourth of July to go stay on Myrtle Beach, SC. Before going down to Myrtle Beach, my family would have majority of the food prepared. Our menu for Fourth of July, consisted of many different types of food. Some of food we had was chicken pileau, green beans, hot dogs, hamburgers, pasta salad, baked beans, corn on the cob and my granny famous crab salad. Out of all the food that was prepared, my favorite tradition food is my granny’s famous crab salad. To make her crab salad mixes eggs, pasta noodles, mayonnaise, relish, shrimp, crab meat and onions. One good aspect of the crab salad is that it’s low in saturated fat, which is solid fat that is mainly found in animal foods. This is good because saturated fat raises your high blood pressure, so the lower it is the lower your blood pressure would be. It is also high in selenium, which is a trace mineral that protects the cell from damages from substances and it also help regulate the thyroid to help have a proper immune system.
