Four Seasons Goes to Panama
INTRODUCTION
Panama is with the most important airport hubs in Latin America and Panama’s Government is going to extend Panama Canal which would increase the number of tourists. These days, the industries of construction and hotel are expending quickly and the supplyI is unable to meet the demand about the rooms especially in the peak seasons. I thnk it’s the best opportunity for Four Seasons to start a hotel in Panama OVERVIEW OF FOUR SEASON HOTELS
Founded by Isadore Sharp in 1960, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts (FSH&R) started its first hotel in Toronto, Ontario in 1961 (now its headquarters.) So far, there are 80 hotels in more than 30 countries around the word under Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts chain which are positioned to be high-end, luxury hotels in the hotel industry. FSH&R’s strength is its diversity and singularity which means that FSH&R could adopt in every culture and innovate wherever FSH&R is. FSH&R also provides excellent personal service to satisfy every guest in the hotel. This culture and mindset was established in 1970s after the opening of FSH&R in London, England, and through its guiding principle of the Golden Rule – to treat others as you wish to be treated – FSH&R successfully expanded in the U.S. since the 1980s and later Europe and Asia in the 1990s.

RELATIVE INDUSTRIES AND TRENDS
Tourism Industry
In favor of Four Seasons Hotel’s operation in the future, the number of visitors coming to Panama has increased dramatically for these ten years since there are not only many attractive sights located throughout the city at the beach, on the island and in the mountains, but also with moderate temperature during whole year which is from 70 degrees to 90 degrees. The number of tourists arriving between January and September 2008 was 1,110,000, 13.1% or 128,452 visitors. This was a significant increase to the 982,640 travelers who had arrived in the same period of 2007, a year that beat all records regarding the entry of tourists into the

    Imperialism of Decadence

Interventions have become more frequent with the expansion of frontiers. The United States have recently intervened in the territory of Acre, there to found a republic of rubber gatherers; at Panama, there to develop a province and construct a canal; in Cuba, under cover of the Platt Amendment, to maintain order in the interior; in Santo Domingo, to support the civilising revolution and overthrow the tyrants; in Venezuela, and in Central America, to enforce upon these nations, torn by intestine disorders, the political and financial tutelage of the imperial democracy. In Guatemala and Honduras the loans concluded with the monarchs of North American finance have reduced the people to a new slavery. Supervision of the customs and the dispatch of pacificatory squadrons to defend the interests of the Anglo-Saxon have enforced peace and tranquility: such are the means employed. The New York American announces that Mr. Pierpont Morgan proposes to encompass the finances of Latin America by a vast network of Yankee banks. Chicago merchants and Wall Street financiers created the Meat Trust in the Argentine. The United States offer millions for the purpose of converting into Yankee loans the moneys raised in London during the last century by the Latin American States; they wish to obtain a monopoly of credit. It has even been announced, although the news hardly appears probable, that a North American syndicate wished to buy enormous belts of land in Guatemala, where the English tongue is the obligatory language. The fortification of the Panama Canal, and the possible acquisition of the Galapagos Island in the Pacific, are fresh manifestations of imperialistic progress....…

On December 20 of 1989, 26,000 U.S. troops invaded Panama in ‘‘Operation Just Cause’’ to expel and capture the country's strong man, the former general Manuel Antonio Noriega and destroy his military. No honest Panamanian, no human being can be indifferent to the horror of war, one can justify the thousands of dead innocent civilians. ‘‘Forget Prohibited’’ as many Panamanians says for this day, the world's most powerful country United States of North America, economic and military power was the right throw unwarranted. No declaration of war, to attack and invade a small country of 2 million inhabitants in that time.…

The topic that will be researched and analyzed in the following essay has to do with the Imperialist Era in the United States. The question is: “To what extend did the Panama Canal lead to our success as Imperialists?” The aspects I will be researching are the history of the Panama Canal, the problems related to it, and the consequences that lead to our success as Imperialists. In general, my method of investigation was a bibliographical research, based on information found in books and on the internet. As resources I used both primary and secondary sources. First, I have a database article from Texas Digital Library, and secondly I used an IB Diploma Programme Book called “History of the Americans” published by the Oxford University and written by Y. Berliner, T. Leppard, A. Mamaux, M. D. Rogers and D. Smith. Also, I based my essay on a book from a historian called Kenneth C. Davis. The book’s name is “Don’t know much about History”, and it was a New York Times bestseller. Furthermore, I used another article by an historian called Sarah Jane Gilbert. The article has the title “Panama Canal: Troubled History, Astounding Turnaround”. The primary source I found was a letter from President Roosevelt to the Senate and House of Representatives that is called “Message to Congress after Returning from the Canal Zone in Panama”.…

Let me describe Nicaragua. Tall, silver buildings , people scurrying on the sidewalk, giant green palm trees, tropical breezes, and even a cool gust on a hot hot summer day. Nicaragua is the place to be. But that’s only what the capital is like. The rest is poor cities. Nicaragua’s main oceans are the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, and they have a lake named after them. Since its such a big country, it has three climates. The Pacific Region, Central Highlands, and the Caribbean Region, which I’ll explain later. “Violence has been Nicaragua’s most important export to the world.” -Ronald Reagan, or, the Spanish version, which Nicaraguans would be able to read,”La violencia ha sido la exportación más importante de Nicaragua al mundo” -Ronald Reagan (no date shown). Now, you want to learn more? Continue reading. You will read about geography, climate, government, economy, culture, and find out some interesting facts.…

Four Seasons is the world’s leading operator of luxury hotels and resorts. They are well known not only in the U.S. but they are a huge international hit. They have been successful over the last thirty years because of their strengths of diversity and originality. Four Seasons does not want to be a globalization of markets like McDonald’s, where everyone is the same. They are not a “cookie-cutter company.” This is a great tactic to have because then you would not be such a high class hotel and resort. Also, when you go international you have to be in touch with all of the cultural changes which can make or break your business. They have done an exceptional job of adapting to the different cultures. When you walk into a four seasons hotel “it does not scream four seasons at you.”…
