Foreign Cultures
Foreign cultures The problem of the students who have to learn foreign cultures or not had

concerned a number of people. Some individuals advocate that the students are just

need to know their own country culture. However, their are a large group of opponents

have an opposite perspective. As far as I concerned,The students in college are

necessary to know the foreign cultures. Most of the student will go to other countries in the future for their jobs or

visit their relatives or friends. So they have to know some foreign cultures for the

convenience and live without troubles. If you are a tourist on that country, and you

know the foreign cultures, you can enjoy your trip. If you are working on that country,

you will put more focus on your work and getting more friends. But if you don’t

know the cultures of the country which you live, you will have a lot of troubles. You

can not pay any attention on you major work, you will not happy because some

awkward things will happen. In addition, if you familiar with the cultures of foreign countries, wherever

you are you will be the person who is most attractive. A lot of people might think you

are really intelligent and know a lot of interesting things and knowledge they don’t

know. So you might getting a lot of friends who interest you. If you are in the foreign

country, you will have live easier and smoother. to get a good job. If you want to be a

teacher in the school or a tour guide, you will need this culture a lot. In the conclusion, learning foreign cultures are really helpful, they are a

sort of ability that can avoid some embarrassments, and can help you getting more

opportunities to make new friends and good jobs in the future.

The first step is to want to. The second is to master the predominant language. While reading about the history of a nation is helpful what's more important is understanding the laws so you don't erroneously end up in jail. After that it's a matter of studying those around you. What are their goals and priorities? This will vary sometimes by block so decide which part of the new culture fits you best and work on becoming that.…

There have always been changes upon moving to another place whether it's within the country or outside of country to abroad. When a person, after many years adjusts in a place his/she's mind is set and comfortable with everything around him/her. Therefore, if that person moves to another place he/she will face different advantages and disadvantages. For example, I use to live in Pakistan and moving to Canada at the age of 8. I found few advantages in Canada such as the education system, and rules and regulations for all. But, disadvantages were leaving the culture, and the society.…

    CULTURAL PLURALISM

    • 583 Words
    • 3 Pages

It can be a problem not to understand another culture, especially, in New York City where we live in a society that is rapidly changing. The City has increasingly brought people of various cultures, to interact closer with each other. This interaction can be either positive or negative depending on the level of sensitivity and respect people have for other cultural groups. One cultural group may believe that their culture and traditions are better than the other person’s culture and may even seek to convince you or to impose their beliefs on you. Especially when it comes to religious and political beliefs. The negative side to all this is that each culture has their own beliefs, traditions and values that could pose a problem on someone else who do not share those values or traditions. Disagreements over what’s right or wrong and lack of communication because of language barriers could arise. But with an open mind, we could all turn this to a positive and learn from each other’s culture. For example, something as basic as cooking rice, each culture have their own way of cooking a…

    1. Educate yourself on the customs and business etiquette of the international market. When entering a foreign market make sure you know the country’s history, the proper way to greet someone, the ordinary times for lunch (or prayer in many African, Asian and Middle-Eastern countries). Make sure you are communicating with them in the expected way within their society — e.g: with the appropriate salutation. (Bias, 2011)…

In today’s multi-cultural society it is most likely that we all have or will interact with people from other cultures. The only aspect of interacting with people from other cultures that sometimes proves difficult for me is the issue of language and accents. For the most part I have no problems understanding most dialects’ yet there are some that are very difficult for me to understand so listen intently. If I know that I am meeting with a person from a culture and I am not familiar with their traditions, beliefs and greeting styles I study about the culture prior to our meeting. This has saved many real estate transactions for me in the past. The other aspect of muti-cultural meetings is the food. Sometimes it’s wonderful and other times it was an experience that I will never forget or want to repeat. Living in a multi-cultural society has created a diverse workforce, a larger circle of friends and in my opinion a better world.…
