Forced To Lie
According to the western dictionary, a lie is to make an untrue statement with the intent of deceiving (Lie, n.d.). The Army unconsciously self-created an environment that forces the majority of the Soldiers to lie. Since leaders of all levels expect their subordinates to comply with ridiculous amounts of mandatory training requirements, the reality is that it is nearly impossible to do it and it is mainly because of the lack of time. This will push any Soldier to use creative thinking to complete those requirements.

The chain of innocent lies continues their boss report to their boss so far and so far. Some of those leaders do not care whether if the completion of training requirements were according to the right standards.
Then there is no option but to report compliance with all requirements because reporting a noncompliance could mean a career killer in some instances. This new “compliance” culture has created an environment that leaders are forced to “lie “to some extent.
How the United States Army, a so-called “institution of excellence,” with a long and proud heritage, with values, and traditions has allowed this type of acceptable behavior while still hypocritical promoting “integrity as part of their culture? The Washington Post published an article about a study done by the United States Army War College that found that lying was common in the military (Damothe, 2015).
The study found that many Army Officers have become “ethically numb.” The reason is that the Army created a culture of doing more with less and expected that all Soldiers met requirements no matter the cost even if it requires
