Five Star Subaru America History
Five Star Subaru is a Subaru of America Inc. dealership in Oneonta. The dealership aims to serve all of the greater Norwich area. It is a single dealership co-owned by Ben Guenther and Blaine Jennings and includes over 35 staff members (plus interns). There is a service, sales, accounting and internet department. They offer internships each semester and summer break in the accounting and internet department. The history of the current Five Star Subaru began with Ben Guenther. He was a wholesale dealer of cars. He would go to the previous owner of the Subaru Dealership, buy the lower end vehicles to used car dealerships. The previous owner knew him and trusted him as a business man. He asked Ben for help because …show more content…
It is a laid back atmosphere, that is friendly, family orientated and welcomes pets. The owner Ben has his daughter working in the internet department and is the internship coordinator. They have Ipads in the waiting rooms, wifi, coffee, water and snacks available for free. There are often children there and they have dog treats in the sales department. The floor plan is relatively open and inviting. The owners are very nice, laid back and like to joke around (with all positive jokes), they care to stay update with technology and trends. They know my name, and talk to me when they see me. I am closer to Blaine, then Ben because I see Blaine more. They eat lunch where the interns work, I have talked to Blaine about his children, college experience (he is a alumni to Hartwick) and my own experience in college and jobs. From what one of my more immediate managers, Deanie, has said they believe me to be a good work, and have a business mindset. With my immediate managers Jessica, Deanie, and Jon, I hold a strong relationship. I talk with them everytime I see them.
