Five Senses
Name the parts of the body:

Name the five senses: I can see ____ I can hear ____ I can touch ___ I can taste ______ I can smell _____

3) A blank face to draw eyes, nose, mouth on it: Colour the pictures of the body parts: Alphabet Words
Suggested Grades
K-2
Objective
Students will identify words that begin with certain letters of the alphabet.
Materials
pieces of paper with each of the letter of the alphabet written a bag, a hat, a box, or a can to fit the letters in easily pieces of paper markers, pencils, and/or crayons
Method
This activity is best done in small groups.
Throw the letters of the alphabet in the container, shake it, and ask each child to reach in and pick one without looking. Ask students to keep the letter turned over until all of the students have one.
Each student is responsible for writing and/or drawing a word that begins with the letter they chose. Give them one minute to do this.
After this time ask each student to show and/or read the word and/or drawing to the rest of the group.
Throw the letters back into the container and repeat.
Note: Some students will, of course, repeat words that were already presented. That's okay, though, because at least that word will stick in their heads!

Lesson Plan:
To teach the children about three letter words starting with ‘f’ using phonic sounds:
1. To familiarize the children with the three letter words first we need to review the vowels i.e., a, e, i, o, u. Each vowel has two sounds.
2. To familiarize the children with the three letter words we need to review the consonants i.e., b,c,d,f.. Most consonants have one sound except ‘c’ and ‘g’.
3. To identify and associate them to our day-to-day life.
4. To teach the children that each word is different from one another.
5. To teach the children about the sounds of the alphabet ‘f’. eg: fan, fun, fox, fix, fit etc.
6. To teach the children

Year 1 children are just starting with lessons so they need to be told how to sit and listen to what they are being told so they know what they need to do to complete the task in hand. In Phonics you need to sound out the sounds and words, see how the children get on spelling the word and then help them by sounding the word out again or breaking the sounds down so they can hear the letter sounds easier. When they get it right let them know they have got it correct. If some children are still having difficulty you sound out the individual letters or write them on the whiteboard so they can copy it correctly or check their own spelling. We played a game of…

Play word games to promote phonological awareness. With a toddler who has limited English skills, "sound soup" is a fun game to play. Bring out a big soup pot and tell the child, "We are going to make 'k' soup today!" Then, begin to fill the pot with items that start with the 'k' sound -- carrots, kale, clocks. The point of the game is to get the child to become very familiar with a particular sound and to recognize it as a sound that can occur at the beginning of a word.…

Another inconsistency is that the same letter or group of letters does not always represent the same sound in English. Some letters can stand for as many as four different sounds. For instance, the letter "c" has no sound equivalent as /c/; it is realized as /k/ as in cup and /s/ as in cellular. The learner cannot predict in which word "c" is pronounced as /k/ or /s/. In contrast, the same sound is not always represented by the same letter or group of letters. Such examples are the /f/ sound which is spelt as "f" as in fit, "ff" as in offer, "gh" as in tough and "ph" as in photo as well as the /e/ sound which is realized in various spellings like "a" as in many, "aI" as in said, "e" as in let, "ea" as in dead, "eo" as in leopard, "ie"…
