My first day at Larned High School started like every first day before me. The principal, Mr. Langdon, gathered all the students and welcomed us into a new school year. The speech as long but informational. It was a familiar speech that I had heard every first day of school. My first day of college went a little like this. Coming in as a freshman I was scared and nervous. I arrived at a small building consisting of two floors and about 20 classrooms. I wasn’t really worried about getting lost, but how can I get lost in a small building anyways. After rooming the hallways for a few minutes I head to class. My class was an average of 22 students. I walk in to take a seat; it was so quite I was able to hear a pin drop. It took me by surprise when some one finally spoke. He began talking about the class they had…

Coming into my first quarter of college I did not know what to really expect. I was very nervous and thought to myself if I could actually be successful in college. As the quarter went on, yes it was difficult at times, but I managed to work hard and get through everything. I have had good experiences and I have had bad experiences. I have had a mixture of these experiences throughout my classes. Academically I did a relatively good job. Although most of the time I was lazy and watched netflix a lot, towards the end of the quarter I did better on fully completing my work as well as watching less television.…

My first day was an okay day; there weren't so many kids there because the senior’s juniors and sophomores didn't have school that day. I went to all my classes and I thought wow this is going to be hard. I got lost a couple of times because it was a big school and I was new. Then the day after that everybody was here at school and it was very crowed I could barely get to class on time. The first week of high school was pretty easy because we didn’t have a lot to do.…

I am currently in my freshman year at college, and I have found the experience a very rewarding and exciting one. This year has been a year of "firsts" in my life. I have experienced my first call home to truly say "hi," my first all-night study session, and my first time on my own and in my own space. Since the first year is a changing experience, I was glad to live with about two hundred other people experiencing the same feelings I was because it made it so much easier to make the transition from our former high school lives to our new college lives together.…

The first year of college for a young man or women can be a monumental step in their life. In my case it was. It was the first time that someone in my household went to a college in the United States, so the pressure was on. It felt like having the spotlight in a performance just waiting for your work to get judged by others. I was not necessarily scared to be judge by my family members, but I was a little worried about the transition from the skate free ways of high school that I was very used to. The schoolwork was not the only thing that was on my mind as I made my way into the college atmosphere; I was also thinking about doing things on my own and budgeting my time completely by myself.…

It was my first day of college and I was both nervous and excited. Nervous because I'm older, have a husband and children at home. I don't want to fail and disappoint them. I felt excited for the same reasons, my family. I can earn my degree and get a better paying job than my current EMS job. I would be able to spend more time at home and help my husband provide for our family. As I prepare for my first day, I look at my textbooks, my notebooks, all my pencils and pens and have my laptop out. Everything is in front of me on my dining room table and nicely organized for my first day. My experience isn't the same as traditional students because I'm doing the vast majority of my classes online. This way I don't have to be away from my home and…

My first day of high school wasn’t one of those days that hit me as being scary. Although there were many new people, a much bigger building, and only a few friends you could talk to from junior high. For some reason you just really feel a jump in your ego when you walk through those doors. Trying to find a new class room in five minutes was about the hardest thing that day, although as mean as some of them looked, all you had to do was ask an upper classman and you would know right where to go.…
