Ali takes his little sister Zahra's shoes to the shoemaker to be repaired, but loses them on the way home. The siblings decide to keep the predicament a secret from their parents, knowing that there is no money to buy a replacement pair and fearing that they will be punished. They devise a scheme to share Ali's sneakers: Zahra will wear them to school in the morning and hand them off to Ali at midday so he can attend afternoon classes. This uncomfortable arrangement leads to one adventure after another as they attempt to hide the plan from their parents and teachers, attend to their schoolwork and errands, and acquire a new pair of shoes for Zahra. At her school, Zahra sees the shoes on a schoolmate's feet, and follows her home, but the two soon become friends.

Ali enters a high-profile children's footrace in the hope of receiving the third prize of a new pair of sneakers. He accidentally places first and wins another prize instead. The film ends with Zahra finding out that she will not get a new pair of shoes, but

there is a quick shot of their father's bicycle at the end of the movie that shows what appears to be the red shoes Zahra had been focusing on earlier and another pair of white sneakers, presumably for Ali, whose old sneakers were torn from so much use. The film ends with the final shot showing Ali dipping his blistered feet in a pool. Writing credits(in alphabetical order) | Majid Majidi | | |

People were fleeing Europe to join the Crusades in search of fortune or salvation. Europe was in a state of disease, poverty and famine; the people suffered greatly. During the Middle Ages, illness and misfortune was considered punishment from God for sins committed. It was thought that in order for people to be free of their despairs they had to ask for forgiveness and find salvation. That was why many people joined the Crusades, to redeem themselves in the eyes of God. Another reason for people to join the Crusades was for adventure, or a new chance at a better life. Men were often discontent and wanted to partake in war and be a hero. The land of Jerusalem also meant new opportunity, a place to set off to and forget the life left behind.…

The behavior of Russ, the main character in the movie, can be described by using four different theories of development. Firstly, we can describe Russ’s behavior by Psychoanalytic Theories. In this case, Erikson’s Psychosocial Theory will be used to explain the behavior of Russ. According to Erikson’s Psychosocial Theory (Cherry, 2011a), there are eight stages of human development and people will experience a conflict that serves as a turning point in each stage of development. People who had overcome the conflict in each stage will develop a psychological quality whereas those who could not overcome the conflict will fail to develop that quality. In the movie, Russ did not overcome the conflict in sixth stage, which is intimacy vs. isolation. For example, as Russ did not have a good relationship with his father when he was small, end up he turns out to be a man who being isolated, as he did not get marry or even own a dog. This is because he did not develop intimacy since small. He did not know how to commit himself to another person.…

At a time when the country is in a period of struggle with the Cold War, Coach Herb Brooks has goals for the team that seem to be set a little too high. In the end, I ran. I ran because I was a coward.” (Hosseini, 82). This event had severely impacted their relationship and ultimately Amir himself. Hosseini’s description of the event and Amir’s thoughts and reasons for his actions allow the reader to comprehend the circumstance and the actions which will proceed. Amir’s guilt and disgust of his passiveness during the event paved the way through the rest of the book leading Amir on a road to redemption. However, the film adaptation failed to properly develop the relationship between the two boys, a large reason being the lack of details and insight into the actions and emotions of Amir. As a result, it becomes difficult for the reader to understand the importance of one to the other, ultimately outlining the result of a poorly displayed relationship. The lack of insight into the relationship does not allow for a clear understanding of why Amir ignored Hassan, why Amir came back to Afghanistan on the hunt for Sohrab (Hassan’s future son), and several other events which…
