At the beginning of the movie the member gather at a camp that to try and be part of the team that will have the opportunity to participate in the 1980 winter Olympics and represent the United States in the sport of hockey. It was interesting to see that the coach was not there to be there friend he was there to train a team to have a chance to play in the Olympics and make a fool out of themselves and if they were lucky then maybe defeat the teams that were participating. The training was brutal and the team started off not carrying about the others, they just cared about themselves and that they will make the team since there was limited amount of spots available.
