Aliens is a 1986 film directed by James Cameron, starring Sigourney Weaver as Ellen
Ripley the protagonist of the film. The film is set for the most part in planet LV426. The genre of the film is a scientifical film and thriller with a little of horror, it builds tremendous amounts of suspense. The suspense causes the audience to think before or with the characters. During the course of the film Ellen Ripley, the lone survivor from a prior mission, battles the aliens. Ripley is to planet LV426 and befriends Newt, the lone survivor of the established colony. The rest of the colonists are killed by the aliens upon being sent to planet LV426 despite knowing of the aliens. Ripley and Newt form a motherdaughter bond which at the end saves Newt life. The
Queen plays a motherly role as well, Ripley protects Newt just how the Queen protects her babies. The movie uses various forms of techniques to express the realism at a greater extent.
Aliens is an extremely impressive film because of it use of cinematography, editing, use of effects, and an overall aweinspiring theme that the audience directly relates to and thinks about.
The theme of Aliens is to make a sort of war against the aliens that inhibit LV426 and it also uses the fear of the aliens as part of the concept. The film often compares and contrasts the aliens and humans. At some instances the Marines and Ripley are suspicious of Carter Burke, he purposely sent the colonist’s ship to LV426 so he can get exclusive rights to the aliens for

research. The aliens never betray one another as humans do, aliens are portrayed as monsters but in reality the humans are the real monsters. During several instances Burke turns against the rest of the Marines and Ripley, an example would be when he locks Newt an Ripley in the room with the two crawling creatures.
