Story board 3 Boiler first service

On this job the customer had their Valiant 31kw eco tech boiler installed this time last year and Chris (the installer) rung them up asking them if they wanted the service doing as it was now due. So the customer could stay on the warranty scheme they agreed to have the job done. On arrival the customer was in and expecting us. Checked condition of chimney before walking in, it seemed solid and in good condition with a terminal that also looked suitable. Laid down dust matts in the paths we would be taking. Laid our tools there whilst unloading the van. Checked gas cooker had a lid, it had so lifted it up so no interference with tightness test. Made sure no appliances had pilot lights on with in the property. Only the boiler and cooker were the only gas appliances in the house (they owned an electric fire). Lit rings on cooker, checking grill and cooker itself, flames were not yellow or floppy, was no grease on top and no black stains on wall behind cooker as well as gas hose positioned correctly, made out of the suitable material and no signs of stress. The boiler was having its first service any way so this will be explained as we go on.

Checked meter, it was a G4 with a 28mm pipe rising from it meaning no purging calculations were needed. Checked gas meter for stableness and was stable, earth bonding 10mm wide as well as with in 600mm with no 'T' in the pipe work. Pin still holding handle to the correct tension as well as the meter displayed the two stickers, one displaying the no. to ring in case of an emergency and the other displaying which way influences the handle to do what. Handle swung right way, no threat of pressure increasing when doing let-by-test at 10 mb for a minute, carried out stabilisation for a minute at 20 mb and then a tightness test at 20mb for two minutes. A slight drop but around .17mb which is only very slight. Whilst at gas meter I did standing pressure, lifting ECV all the way up the

The central heating system has been out of order since I moved in last Monday on 3 Nov 2010. I called your agency to report the case on the same day and your agency promise to arrange for a repair service the next day. However, no one showed up on 4 Nov 2010 and your agency did not call us to offer an explanation. I have kept calling your agency ever since and requested for immediate action. Your Customer Service Officer kept telling us that the technician would see to the problem the next day. Mrs. Maphoso had her Kia Sportage scheduled for its 1st service on 2012-03-29. Upon arrival she had a few areas she wanted to be checked during the service. Detailed notes on her areas of concern where made when opening the job card to ensure that the allocated technician would attend to those concerns. As soon as the service was completed the workshop foreman handed me the job card to be invoiced and I phoned the client as soon as her vehicle was cleaned and looked brand new awaiting her in the parking area. Mrs. Maphoso arrived at 16:15 where she immediately saw the workshop foreman and asked him to please explain to her what was found and done on her vehicles’ areas of concern. He explained the first point to her in Afrikaans after which she informed him that she would prefer for him to please explain it to her in English as she doesn’t clearly understand the terminology in Afrikaans. He just kept on…

As you know, we have been living in this house since September and have always paid our rent on time. However, we have had no hot water for last two weeks. This is making our lives very difficult, especially as it is now the middle of winter. Last week you said you would send a workman to our house within 3 days, but no one came. After calling many times, the workman eventually arrived at the house 5 days later. Unfortunately, he said he could not fix the problem because the boiler was too old! We are now extremely unhappy about this solution.…
