I AM YOUR BABY,
PLEASE DON’T ABORT,
LET ME LIVE,
DON’T CUT ME SHORT!!
This is the cry of an unborn girl. Female foeticide means killing an unborn girl. Man has covered a long distance from prehistoric ages to 21stcentury, during this long period of time; women had to face different eras. There was a time when worshipping god was considered incomplete without a female presence and there come such a time when she was kept behind” pardah” ,bounded within the boundaries of her own home, many evils surrounding her and much more. she was tortured to the fullest but despite of all those difficulties, women came ahead. She fought and won. Now a days a new trend of female foeticide id evident, by killing her, before she opens her eyes to see this beautiful world. This practice is more in villages. It may be because of the illiteracy, fond for male child and most important reason of female foeticide is poverty because a handsome amount is to be given to the family-in-laws at the time of marriage and secondly increasing evils against women like rapes, eve teasing, kidnapping etc.
“AS A BIRD CANNOT FLY WITH ONE WING
A FAMILY CANNOT RUN WITH A MALE ALONE”
No one can neglect the contribution of women in the society. Today, whatever height man has achieved, women workout as a ladder For man. Infact, man is on the sky, sitting on the shoulder of woman . she is the foundation of every small to big task being undertaken.
Female foeticide is an evil. Even god doesn’t forgive the persons involved in this crime. Eradicating this evil is not a one hand clap!!
GOVT., NGO’S and the society have to make out the rule ant then strictly implement it.mother herself has to come ahead and avoid evil practices.
A female can give a ray of life to the parents and a ray of hope to the society.what we have to do is to observe inform and prevent female foeticide. always remember :
“GOD RECEIDES WHERE FEMALE IS WORSHIPPED”

Give birth to children, be available for loving, feed, heal and educate them appear to have been for a long time the only real social contributions expected from women. It was their only identity. Religions, cultures, family, and politic have valued family life as a woman's primary role, while neglecting to consider their role in the public sphere. Women have always been subject to this division and have suffered the consequences. Those ideologies were reinforcing the exclusion of women in society and were justifying economic dependence. Over the years, the traditions, rules, and norms have defined maternal function differently. At different times in history, women rebelled against that unique model of femininity that societies were offering them. This evolution is still relevant. Even today, gender equality is still not achieved in developed countries. Our aim will be to study the various laws and programs that exist in different countries. We will conclude by examining the gender discrimination that persists in these countries in relation to motherhood.…

Women who constitute half a human population have been discriminated, harassed and exploited irrespective of the country to which they belong, unmindful of the religion which they profess and oblivious of the timeframe in which they live. Everywhere women are confronted with many challenges. Female foeticide is perhaps one of the worst forms of violence against women where a woman is denied her most basic and fundamental right i.e “the right to life”. The phenomenon of female foeticide in India is not new, where female embryos or foetuses are selectively eliminated after pre-natal sex determination, thus eliminating girl child even before they are born. As a result of selective abortion, between 35 and 40 million girls and women are missing from the Indian population. In some parts of the country, the sex ratio of girls to boys has dropped to less than 800:1000. The United Nations has expressed serious concern about the situation. The long standing tradition of son preference, coupled with medical technology now gives to the status conscious Indian families, the choice between payment of large dowry for their daughters or elimination of daughters. The traditional method of getting rid of the unwanted girl child was female infanticide, where the female baby was done away with after birth in various ways – either by poisoning the baby or letting her choke on husk or simply by crushing her skull under a charpoy. With the advancement of medical technology sophisticated techniques can now be used or rather misused, to get rid of her before birth. Through ultrasound scans and amniocentesis, the sex of the foetus can be determined during the pregnancy of the woman and then the foetus is aborted if found to be female.…

The social responsibility of the caring of children lies entirely on the mothers and they are expected to devote their time and their entire self on their children.…

    Female foeticide

Female foeticide is the act of aborting a foetus because it is female. The frequency of female foeticide is indirectly estimated from the observed high birth sex ratio, that is the ratio of boys to girls at birth. The natural ratio is assumed to be between 103 to 107, and any number above it is considered as suggestive of female foeticide. According to the decennial Indian census, the sex ratio in the 0 to 6 age group in India has risen from 102.4 males per 100 females in 1961,[1] to 104.1 in 1981, to 107.8 in 2001, to 108.8 in 2011.[2] The child sex ratio is within the normal natural range in all eastern and southern states of India, but significantly higher in certain western and particularly northwesternstates such as Punjab, Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir (120, 118 and 116, as of 2011, respectively).[3] High birth sex ratio and implied female foeticide is an issue that is not unique to India. Even higher sex ratios than in India have been reported for the last 20 years in China, Pakistan, Vietnam, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia and some Southeast European countries.[4] There is an on-going debate as to whether these high sex ratios are only caused by female foeticide or some of the higher ratio is explained by natural causes.[5]…

In third world countries such as India infanticide of females is common. There have been laws outlawing both infanticide and determining the sex of babies if it is not medically necessary, however it still continues.
