UMEM Website Redesign Project
Feasibility Study

Prepared by: 406 Design October 24, 2014

Executive SummaryKate
The purpose of a feasibility study is to assess how effectively each potential solution will meet system requirements based on six different dimensions of evaluation with regard to scheduling, budget, and scope. The feasibility study is completed by examining the operational, economic, scheduling, technological, political, and legal practicality of each alternative considered. The alternatives are assigned a numeric value from 13 (1 being the most efficient) for each category. This allows comparison of the options on a standardized basis. A weighted method is used for this assessment. This entails determining the impact of each of the 6 dimensions and assigning a percentage value representing the portion of overall feasibility that each dimension carries. Using a weighted method allows for a more accurate assessment of the possible alternatives; therefore, the best possible solution recommendation. Three alternatives were considered for this engagement and were evaluated based on the elements listed above
Alternatives Considered
Three alternatives will be taken into consideration for the UMEM website that will be developed by 406 Design. We want to look at various alternatives in order to implement a solution that will satisfy time, cost, and scope. This will guide us to select an alternative that best meets the goals of the project. We will examine alternatives from three categories that include: a custom solution, template solution, and a customizable solution. ● Dream Weaver
Custom Solution: This solution is built from the bottom up. It allows development to be tailored to the specific needs of the client. Custom solutions are not developed for mass market use. This solution would provide the most flexibility and customizations options that would meet the majority of
