Team Leader Presentation
Hi. A position for Team leader has been offered in our credit control dept and as part of the selection process we have been asked to prepare a presentation of no more than 5 minutes in answer to the question 'If I was in charge, I would .....". I have limited experience in credit control but I think I would make a great team leader. Does anyone have any original ideas that I could use?

I would just pick and discuss three different things you would do if you got the job - they dont have to be mindblowing big change type things though, some off the top of my head:

LISTEN TO SUGGESTIONS OF MY TEAM/STAFF
COMMUNICATE WELL TO ENSURE AN EFFICIENT TEAM
LEAD BY EXAMPLE - professionalism, conduct, job performance etc
WORK HARD TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Hope this in some way helps

First of all I would have to set out a job specification and ensure any possible applicant understands the role: See Appendix 1. This document will also contain a "Person Specification" which will highlight the attributes that we will be looking for in an applicant, as well as the job description. I would then speak to my line manager and Human resources team, show them the job specification and explain why I need a person for this particular role and answer any questions that arise. I would then set out a meeting with the department and explain the new job position and how I will go about filling the position.…

The first point I want to touch base on is preparation. Preparation is the number one thing you want to do in order to give an effective presentation and it also helps you control your nerves. With anything that you present you should always know your topic inside and out. When presenting its up to you to be the expert on your topic. By knowing you are the expert on your topic it will help boost your confidence and make it easier to deliver your speech. After you finish your research on your topic you will learn that you actually know more about you topic then you have time to present. Make sure you pick the important key factors you want to get across to your audience and sell those points, really talk them up. While you’re prepping you also want to come up with a really strong conclusion. Sum up your speech and end strong, leaving your audience with something to think about as well as something to talk about after.…

Introduce a theme. Always introduce a theme at the beginning of a presentation. You can start by a remark saying, “I want to talk to you today about staying passionate about life,” or “I want to talk you to about having a big vision for your life.” Introducing a theme gives your audience a roadmap. Make sure your stories, anecdotes or examples tie back to your main theme.…
