Food Poison Essay Food poison is a sickness caused by toxins and bacteria in food or water. Food poison can be transmitted by eating contaminated food and drinking contaminated water. You can also get it from a contaminated swimming pool or even be transmitted through children in daycare. Bacteria such as Campylobacter jejuni, Clostridium botulinum, Clostridium perfringens, Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Streptococcus A, Listeria monocytogenes, and Shigella just to name a few are some causes of food poison. Children is more susceptible to food poison than adults because their weak immune system and also because they are around other children a lot in which the share toys which has been infected by bacteria’s. For the most part there aren’t any differences in symptoms between adults and children. Some symptoms are diarrhea, vomiting (blood in stool), fever, stomach cramps, and aching body parts. A person needs to stay hydrated because of all of the vomiting and diarrhea which results in loss of fluids. Toxoplasma is a parasite that may cause food poison. Toxoplasma has symptoms like skin rashes and swollen lymph glands which is a sign of your body getting rid of the toxins. Food Poison can be related to kidney failure. Studies show that food poison activates an abnormal response in the immune system which causes an autoimmune system response. Kidney failure causes problems in the urinary system like Blood/protein in the urine, hard time urinating, and more or less urination than normally.
