Father Son Relationship In The Book Night
A father and son relationship is valuable in different aspects. With memories creating nostalgia and events making learning experiences. The most important factor of a father and son relationship is that both the father and son are able to obtain a new ability or trait out of it. Since one’s been born their father has always been there for them if he is active in their life. The things being taught by their father is very important because they have been in similar situation and will more than likely know how to approach it or react to it the best way they can. The novel Night written by Elie Wiesel is centered around a father and son relationship with Elie (son) and his father. At the beginning of the book, the relationship isn’t very strong. When Elie saw his father helpless that made him realize he had to stay strong during that horrific time period. Especially since the Jews were being tortured Elie and his father knew that they had to help each other out. As they were making sure they were ok at times that was when their relationship became stronger because practically every second at the camp they were fighting for their lives knowing they only had each other. Others may argue the holocaust weakened the relationship of the two because they were weak, they were being dehumanized, the odds were against them, and they were outnumbered in terms of total power. But at the same time they saw each other in a completely different state meaning they had to be comfortable with being uncomfortable in order to survive.
