Family Life in Two Cultures
Advantages between large and small towns. Living in a city or a small town can have many differences. Some people may prefer to live in a city rather than in a small town or the opposite. There are a few advantages of living in a large city over living in a small town, but yet living in a small town may also have some advantages. The first advantage a city over a small town is that it has large quantities of shopping stores such as Wal-Mart, Target, and malls. On the other hand, in small towns there are not many places to go for shopping. The stores in a small town could be miles apart. Another advantage of a large city is the employment opportunities. Some examples of employment’s you can do in a large city are business men, chefs, police men and other of good paying jobs. On the other had in small towns there aren’t a lot of employment opportunities due to the little money and the small amount of people that live there. Women for example stay at home doing house work and chores while men work in farms and jobs that are hard to do. However entertainment is a small town in my opinion has more advantages, and you actually spend time with family rather than in big cities. For instance some examples of entertainment are horse riding, canoeing, hunting; kite flying and a lot more this are activities you can do with family and friends. On the other hand in a city parents are working most of the time and don’t really spends times with their kids but, you do have you video games and a lot of computers and phones that are entertainment but in my opinion there are not really good methods of entertainment. Therefore living in a city or a small town can have many differences. Some people may prefer to live in a city rather than in a small town or the opposite. There are a few advantages of living in a large city over living in a small town, but yet living in a small town may also have some advantages. Yet, they both are good places to live in.

There are many differences between living in the city or in a country setting, but the country setting has many more advantages over the city. The air and water quality and other environment factors are improved in the country setting. The school system is safer and less crowded in a rural setting. The roads are not loaded with traffic and taxis. The country is safer than the city and crime rates are lower. In the country, there is an abundance of trees and vegetation. In the country, there are parks and open spaces, and there is a variety of wildlife to observe. Although some of the reasons why one might choose to live in either place are left to personal preference, there are many factors based solely on facts.…

Many families and individuals find themselves at some point questioning the advantages of city living versus country living. It is nearly impossible to find a good answer to this question. What is good for one person might not be good for another. Some people enjoy the busy, hyper active metropolitan city where they can use all amenities and have unlimited opportunities for work and leisure. At the same time, other people feel the urge to be closer to Mother Nature, relaxation, beauty, and peace. They take pleasure in living in the calm and peaceful environment of the countryside and spending their free time fishing, hiking, picking berries in the woods, or playing in the creek. In my opinion, the nature of urban and rural life style and the effect it has on people is the most important difference between living in the city and living in the country. I feel fortunate to have grown up in the rural area. I would never trade my memories of playing in the creek, riding four wheelers, or climbing trees all within a short walk from my house. Health, education, and transportation are three major concerns that need to be considered. While city life can bring more opportunities in these cases, country life can provide the best of both worlds.…

Another important advantage to the big city is the social life. Have you ever heard stories from teachers in school who grew up in the small town? They often tell about how the one time they accidently messed up, their parents knew before they could even get home. This is sad because it is the first time they mess up and have felt bad about it and should atleast be given the option to tell their parents. Also, people in the big city seem to be more friendly and will often try to help you out if you need it. The big city also offers teenagers a wide aray of things to do with their time, making it less likely for them to commit crimes or do drugs or drink or any other of these wrong things “I couldn't wait to move to the big city. In a small town, there are some values that are more important and more difficult to achieve. Such values include the enjoyment of nature, the warmth and comfort of humanity, and the inner strength of enlightenment. Becky Tijuana says that "in small town you can find your spirituality." In crowded and busy cities, nature is almost completely neglected and eliminated. Technology, industries, and tall buildings eliminate the beauty of nature to introduce the advancements of humanity. Also stress is lower in a small town it 's not as noisy, or congested, it 's just peaceful.…

Living in big cities or small towns both have advantages and disadvantages to their location. People’s living preferences vary for many reasons such as age, profession and interests. Convenience is one of the most beneficial factors to living in a big city. Larger cities are more industrial and advanced and everything can be found with the least effort and time. This gives people a better chance at a higher and more rounded education that can prepare them for the workplace, large cities have more opportunities specially when it comes to careers as you are more likely to find higher paying jobs so consequently live a more comfortable lifestyle. The big cities also offer a multicultural aspect compared to small towns, you will find people from all over the globe that have come to big cities and open restaurants and shops.
