Describe what happened in your own words: So far in my reading of Fahrenheit 451, I have learned about a man named Guy Montag. So far Montag’s life has not been filled with excitement or thrill, he has a pretty dull and boring life. Montag is married, but he isn't very content with it. He has just begun to understand how life really is. He and the people of this unknown city are living in the 24th century. Montag is a fireman in his 30’s and he along with many other people are under the belief that books are not to be read ever. In Montag’s time, firemen are not exactly what you think they would be. 5. Determine the most rhetorical strategies and literary devices used by the author: Ray Bradbury’s use of communication with the characters are key strategies to make the reader comprehend what the character is feeling.
6. Provide any additional descriptions and observations: Throughout the story i noticed that most of the character’s personalities are boring and dull. My reasoning for this is because most of them do things that today we will find insignificant, irrelevant, and boring. Most of the characters enjoy watching TV and lying down all day. My hypothesis is that their lives are so dull because of the impact that the people didn't get from literature and reading.
7. Make up two critical questions you would like to discuss with your classmates: 1) Do you believe that there are any other reasons to why books are not to be in position of? 2) What do you think that Montag will do next to finding more about these mysteries?
