CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

This chapter presents the project context, objectives of the study, purpose of the study, its descriptions, scope and its delimitations, as well as the significance of the study.

Project Context

In recent times, everyday life was filled with burdensome, time-consuming chores that left little time for much more than completing important tasks. People generally worked from their homes or within walking distance to their homes and rarely travelled far from them. People were limited to whatever their physical capacities were. All this changed dramatically as new technologies were developed. Modern day technology makes life simple and easy in many ways.

The computer, for example is used in so many fields in our daily life. From Schools, Colleges, Banks to Hospitals and Government Organizations they all use computers to perform specific tasks, for teaching and research, or for record keeping. Computers have made our life easier. With greater precision and accuracy and less time taking computers can do a lot in short time while manual tasks can take a lot of time.1 The computer provides a number of media options that can enhance the learning experience inside a school or office. Teachers can deliver information to students in ways that keep students engaged and interested in the material. Pictures, slideshows, videos and audio can all be prepared and accessed through a computer, providing a beneficial tool for schools and offices. Aside from educational purposes, computers are a useful tool for keeping records. Teachers can record attendance, track grades and monitor by use of computer. Computers give offices the ability to follow finances, examine inventory and record data. Rather than large stacks of unorganized papers, the computer makes sure all information easy to access and readily available in one place.2
